Hi I'm Brittany Shipman

I was adopted into a loving family. I love to draw and doodle all sorts of things. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hello! ^-^ I am a young adult in the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints! I am getting ready to serve a mission for the church, going out to Long Beach California! I am so excited!! I am five feet and half an inch tall and remain the shortest one in the family, and probably always will be! Oh well, I guess you can say I have a different perspective on things! Haha, yeah...cheesy joke I know, oh well I do try! I have two younger sisters and a loving mother and father. I was adopted as a baby into my family as my parents first child. I was sealed, or tied to my parents as part of our eternal family, in the Salt Lake City temple shortly thereafter. I grew up in Bentonville, Arkansas, attended school here, made friends, go to church, walk in the woods, draw wolves and people and dragons and silly situations, all right around here! I have a great set of wonderful friends and an awesome family!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the gospel is awesome! I can feel its truth in my heart and soul as the Holy Ghost bears witness to me of it! Now, I know that not many of you will know me, but I am one of those people who ask hundreds of questions about pretty much everything. I want to know how what why when where, and a lots of what ifs. The gospel is the one thing that I do not need to do this with, it makes so much sense to me. It testifies in every way that God is our loving Heavenly Father, and that Jesus Christ is his son, and our Savior, who came down to atone for our sins, so that we may repent and return to live with out Heavenly Father after we move on from this mortal life. I bear testimony that this is Christ's restored Gospel, it is simple, it is easy to understand, and it brings joy and peace to my life. I know that my family can be together as a family forever, and that is amazing, I love all of my family members and cannot bear the thought that I could be separated from them after death. I know that God loves all of his children, and the gospel is a testimony of that, from Christ Atoning for our sins to the Restoration of the Gospel in these days, so that we may return to live with Him and with Christ in the eternity to come. I love it, and I live it, and I hope that I can help others to understand my own love for the Gospel.

How I live my faith

Well, the best way I think I have lived my faith is just by living it! I strive to be an example to others around me by keeping the standards set out by the church, I do not curse, I do not dress immodestly, and I strive to fill my spare time with good and wholesome things. I have completed the Young Women's program and received my Young Women's medallion. The medallion is a symbol of the completed program, which is filled with service to others, review of the scriptures and the gospel, and encouraging the betterment of ones self. I've held quite a few callings, or assignments, in the church! I've been a leader in the Young Women's organization as a youth, a president of a seminary class. Seminary is awesome, by the way, its like an early morning scripture study class! It goes throughout high school, a great way to spend the mornings. As a member of the Young Single Adult Branch I have served as a music director and as a branch missionary! Currently I am serving a year and a half mission in Long Beach, California! I am super excited to be here and serve the Lord in sharing the gospel to the people here! I always pray that I will have the opportunity to share the gospel I know and love with others, and bring people to a better understanding of Christ and our Heavenly Father!

What is the Book of Mormon?

Brittany Shipman
The Book of Mormon is another witness of Christ, and is a companion book of scripture to the Bible. It contains the writings of prophets who lived in the Americas after a group of people, lead by Lehi, fled Jerusalem before it was destroyed. They wrote many things that testified of Christ and Heavenly Father, including many wonderful examples of faith. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

Brittany Shipman
It says in the scriptures that a person cannot enter the kingdom of Heaven unless that person has first been baptized. There are many people all over the world who have died never having heard the name of Christ or of Heavenly Father. Through this ordinance they have the opportunity to be baptized. They then have the option of accepting what was done on their behalf or not to accept it, it is of their own free will that they accept what has been done for them. Show more Show less

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Brittany Shipman
Families can be together for eternity, husband, wife, and children. When a husband and wife are sealed together, through the proper authority, then they will be able to live together with their children for eternity. I love my family, and I will be sad when one of them pass away, but I have the joy of knowing that we will forever be a family in heaven due to the fact that we have been sealed together as such for eternity!
