Hi I'm Sister Danielle Brooks

I'm 19 years old, a singer, actor, poet and... I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love music and the performing arts! I take a musical theatre class at a triple threat studio and I've been acting since I was seven years old. I plan to go to college for musical theatre and I hope to one day perform on Broadway. I also enjoy writing poetry. I've been published in four poetry compilation books. I'm the youngest of four and I have five nieces and one nephew. I've been home schooled for most of my life and recently attended an online high school and am now graduated. I like camping, swimming, soccer, tennis, and volleyball. My favorite weather is cloudy and rainy and I love to go dancing around in the rain. I once took a history class about the Revolutionary war and learned all about the Constitution so, I hope one day (When I have one) my daughter will be the first female president.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know without a doubt that it is the true church. I have felt the Holy Spirit testify to me that the things I have learned are true and I am grateful for this church. I don't want to think about where I might be without it's teachings. It has saved my life and it makes me happy. I love being a member of this church!

How I live my faith

I've been a Youth Camp Leader (YCL) at church girls' camp for 2 years. We help the younger girls have a good and happy experience at camp. And we teach them all about first aid and nature. In my Senior year I was called to be on Youth Committee which is a group made up of high school students that give talks in church and are an example to the younger youth in the church. I've been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints my whole life, and I hope to one day be married in the Temple.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Sister Danielle Brooks
Just look around! Throughout nature there are things which are so beautiful they can only be made by a divine being. Such as trees, they grow so tall and can become so sturdy that they last for hundreds of years. Or ants, they can lift up to 20x their own weight! Everything around us wants to call out to us and tell us there is a God and that he loves us, we just need to listen. Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Sister Danielle Brooks
No, we do not worship Joseph Smith. We believe he was a prophet, called by God to organize this church, but we worship our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Some think this because we learn about Joseph Smith and have a few songs about him which we sing, but we do not pray to him or anything like that. Show more Show less
