Hi I'm Katherine Baltazar

I'm from Peru, A missionary in the Pennsylvania Pittsburgh Mission and I'm a Mormon :-)

About Me

Hello everyone, I was born in Peru, currently live in Connecticut. I was introduced to the gospel here in the United States, so grateful I moved here. I have an older brother that just returned from his mission in the Rochester New York Mission. My father and mother are very strong in the gospel, they have taught me very well on how to live this precious gospel that has blessed our lives from the day we knew the truth. I love to make new friends, I'm very friendly and I'm a happy person, I love serving others. My life is complete when I see someone smile :) it brights up my day. I'm currently serving in the Pennsylvania Pittsburgh Mission. My mission is changing me each day and I will keep on letting it change me. I wouldn't have been here if it wasn't for my Redeemer and his love, I know he lives and is REAL.

Why I am a Mormon

I moved to the United States when I was 8 years old with my family. My father and mother weren't living a very peaceful marriage, my brother and I would always have difficulties focusing at school. One day my parent's decided to not be together no more, they were planning on getting a divorce, my brother and I knew how that would be. We were very sad to leave each other's side and not see each other again. But something happened at the right time that changed our lives forever, mom and dad decided to go pick up my brother and I from the bus stop for the last time, as they were walking to pick us up, they saw two young men dressed in a white shirt and black pants. They didn't pay that much attention, when we were all walking to our apartment, one of those young men tap my father's back and said with a big smile "We're missionaries from the Church of Jesus-Christ of Latter Day Saints and we came to share a message with your family about Eternal Families" My dad with a big smile asked us all to introduce ourselves to them. Elder Gard and Elder Neville were the angels sent from God to rescue our family from being separated. I know the Lord's hand was there at that instant. We were all baptize on December 11th, 2002 and from that day our lives has changed in many ways. My father is in the Bishopric, my mother supports him in all his callings and their love for each other increases each day of their lives together. My brother is now preparing to make other promises with Heavenly Father and I am here serving my Lord, your Lord, our Lord with all my heart, might, mind and strength. If it wasn't for those two young men listening to the spirit the Baltazar Family wouldn't have been together FOREVER. It was truly a blessing to see my parents being sealed with each other and with us, It's beautiful how the Lord knows his sheep and leaves the rest of his sheep to rescue the other ones that are lost. Love this Gospel with all my heart ♥

How I live my faith

I live my faith by sharing it with others. It's always important to bear your testimony at all times. I have become more stronger each day as I bear it with my brothers and sisters here in Pennsylvania! At home I was a primary teacher for the 4 years old. They were able to show me the pure love of Christ. As I was in the Young Women Program, I was taught on how to stay strong from all temptations, I was taught to always look up to the highest and stand in Holy Places! All I remember from Primary were the spiritual songs, from there I got to know that I am a Daughter of God and that he loves me and I love him.

Who was Joseph Smith?

Katherine Baltazar
Joseph Smith was a young man with a great love for God. He wanted to follow God at such a young age but couldn't find comfort & peace in the denominations (churches) that he attended to because there was many of them and sometimes is very confusing to know which one is the right one to join. He decided to read James 1:5 "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him" he pondered on that scripture that led him to ask God which of all the churches were true. In 1820, our Father in Heaven and Jesus-Christ appeared to Joseph Smith in a Pillar of Light which brightness and glory defy all description. At that moment he was told that he was going to be an instrument in God's hands to restore (which means making something as it was before) the church of Jesus-Christ again to the earth. Also, Joseph Smith was able to translate another set of scriptures that our Father in Heaven has been preparing for us long time ago, known as the "Book of Mormon" Another Testament of Jesus Christ. We invite others to read this book and ask God as Joseph Smith did, to know the truth that it contains. I know the Bible also with the Book of Mormon are the word of God, they together give us a greater knowledge of the precious love of God. I know it's real, I invite you to do it now my dear brothers and sisters. There's more words God wants to let you know so that we could return back to his precious presence. Show more Show less
