Hi I'm Jeremy

I love to eat, I love my family, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am nineteen years old. I have a mom, a dad, two brothers, and four sisters. I love my family so much. They are my closest friends and I look up to all of them. I love to have fun. I love to laugh about anything that is funny, if I have an excuse to laugh or smile, I usually do it. I was in the Boy Scouts of America program for eight years and I loved it. I am an eagle scout. I have been a member of the church since I was eight years old. My favorite food is probably Mexican food, with Chinese coming in as a close second. I graduated from High School is 2013 and also received a two year transfer degree from Clackamas Community College. Currently I am serving a two year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I'm out here to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ with whoever is interested. I love people and I love to help whenever and wherever I can.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormon) because I know that it is true. Like everyone else, I had to come to this knowledge on my own. Through much prayer, and putting my trust in the Lord, I now know that I have a Father in Heaven who loves me and will answer me when I pray in faith to him. I have been comforted when I need it. I am guided when I need direction. I am given knowledge and wisdom when I ask for it and could not have done it on my own. I know through the power of the Holy Ghost that obedience to God's commandments will bring happiness to the lives of those who keep them. I have seen first hand how keeping the commandments will bring happiness and how disobedience will do the opposite. I continue to follow the prophet because I know that he is my Heavenly Father's spokesman on the earth today. I know the savior performed the Atonement for me and that I can use it in my life to wash away the sorrow of my sins. I am a Mormon, because I know that the church is true.

How I live my faith

I am showing my faith currently by serving a two year mission for my church. Missionaries are members of the church, who set aside their lives for eighteen months to two years and only serve the Lord. We do this by leaving behind our family, friends, hobbies, school, and work and going out to spread the gospel. We find people who are looking for more in their lives and we share with them how the savior has blessed our lives. Than we invite them to follow him and receive these blessings for themselves. I am in the San Gabriel Valley of Southern California where I go around and teach people about what I believe. This is a huge blessing to me because my testimony is being strengthened when I share it with others, and I get to see, first hand, how the gospel can change people's lives. I know that my savior lives, so I show that faith in him by inviting others to follow him as well.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

We Mormons believe that we have the fullness of the gospel on the earth today. There are so many blessings that we have in our lives because of the gospel. We want others to have the opportunity to have those same blessings in their lives. The savior also wants everyone to receive these blessings and have the opportunity to return to live with Him and our Father in Heaven again. because of this, he commanded us the share the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ, so that all will have an equal opportunity to be blessed by the light of Christ. Are there restrictions based on race or color concerning who can join The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and have the priesthood?

There are no ethnological requirements to who can be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. There is also no required background, education, financial status, or experience. It doesn't matter who you are, where you come from, or what you do. The only thing that matters is that you are willing the keep the commandments and commit to following the savior in all you do. The only restriction put on who can hold the priesthood is that you have to be a male, who is old enough, and is living worthily. There are no other things that will keep you from holding the priesthood. Holding the priesthood is a responsibility. It is given to us so that we can use it to serve other people. It has been reviled by God that all worthy males should have the opportunity regardless of race or color. Show more Show less

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is really what makes our church different than other Christian churches. It supports the Bible (Old Testament and New Testament) as "Another Testament of Jesus Christ." It support the Bible and clarify what the Bible says. It is a volume of scripture from the ancient Americas and has teachings from the prophets God called over there. If you read the Book of Mormon and pray to know if it is truly the Word of God, than you will receive a witness that it is by the power of the Holy Ghost. Our whole church is balance on the fact that the Book of Mormon is the Word of God. If it is, than Joseph Smith really was a prophet and he was called by God to set up this Church. If it is not, than Joseph Smith was a fraud and everything falls apart. That is why each and every person must find out for themselves the this is truly scripture from God. When you pray to know about this book, if you do it with a sincere hear (meaning you really want to know) and with real intent (meaning you are willing to act on the answer you receive, such as getting baptized), that you will be able to know of its truth through the power of the Holy Ghost. This will come as a warm, peaceful feeling and it will just feel good. When you receive this witness, than you will know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God given to us in these last days. Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

We believe Joseph Smith to be a prophet of God. We believe that he was chosen by God to set up his church in these last days. We believe he is someone very special and we look up to him and respect him. However, we do NOT worship him in any way. We do not think of him as deity, we do not pray to him and we do not put him above or even on the same playing feild as God. As far as men go, he is one of the greatest; but that is all he is, a man. Nothing more, nothing less. Show more Show less
