Hi I'm Heather

I play viola. I love the outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a return missionary from the Colorado Denver South Mission. Before my mission I completed a year of schooling at Utah State University and am now studying again. I love reading and writing, music, and art. I also like mountain biking and volleyball.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Church. I've had a knowledge of the gospel and the commandments since I could say, "Hello," and that has been a great blessing in my life. When I was 16 years old I took a teacher's challenge to read the Book of Mormon, apply it's teachings, and pray to know of it's truthfulness. I noticed that when I was studying the scriptures and praying, my day went better. I did not at any time have a glorious manifestation, rather, piece by piece I came to know that the things I had been taught were true. These small and sacred experiences brought, and still bring, the light of the gospel into my life. I have peace in tribulation. I know that Christ is our Savior. I know that God is our Father. I know that the full and everlasting gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored by the prophet, Joseph Smith. God speaks to us today, just as in times past. I know this by the power of the Holy Ghost. I am a Mormon because God told me it's true. I love it!!

How I live my faith

I try to be a little better every day.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Missionaries, and regular members of the Church, love talking to people about Jesus! They testify of Jesus Christ, His Atonement, and the power of the Holy Ghost in confirming the truth of all things. The missionaries teach about the restoration of Jesus Christ's church through the prophet Joseph Smith, God's plan of happiness, and what we can do to return to God's presence. Show more Show less

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

"If ye have desires to serve God, ye are called to the work" (Doctrine and Covenants 4:3). I went on a mission because of the influence that the gospel has had in my life. I love my Savior, Jesus Christ, and because of the gospel I know the way to return back to Heavenly Father. This has brought me great joy and comfort, and I have a desire to share it with others. I have a desire to be a disciple of Jesus Christ and feed His sheep as he commanded Peter to, and to give others the opportunity to experience the hope that I have. I have a desire to serve God and I will answer His call. I love my Heavenly Father and I love my brothers and sisters, so I will continue to serve them throughout my life. Show more Show less
