Hi I'm Serena

I am from Hooper, Utah. I love mountains and painting. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love all kinds of arts and crafts, I love anything outdoors, and I love music. On Sundays (and plenty of other days too) I like to spend time with my family. I went to college for two years at Weber State University where I studied music education and had the opportunity to teach in the String Project. I play the viola and the violin and I just recently passed my piano proficiency (and I really mean that I barely passed!), but I love to play hymns and songs from the primary book. I hope to one day learn how to play the organ. I am serving a mission in Colorado right now and am loving every second of it!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I was lucky enough to be born to parents that were already members of this church. When I was eight I was baptized because that is what we do in our family. I didn't really question whether the church was true until junior high. When I started young women's there was a leader that pushed us to read the book of Mormon and find out for ourselves whether it was true or not. I really had the desire to know if the things that I had learned my whole life really were true or not. I read it through and found out for myself that it is true. In the years since then, my testimony of the Savior and of the gospel has been slowly growing through my trying to live it's teachings. In the past couple of years I have been working specifically on learning more about Christ and his Atonement. I have come to know for myself that he lives and that he died so that we might all live. I love this gospel and I love the Lord and want to serve him to the best of my ability; being on a mission is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I love it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by my actions. It is important to me to be honest. I try to live everyday with integrity. I also love to serve. I love having the opportunity to help others feel better by serving them. So imagine my surprise when I got to Colorado (where I am serving a mission) and realized that I am in one of the missions piloting the Just Serve program! We have the opportunity to serve every week for various community organizations, like ARC and the Arvada Food Bank.
