Hi I'm Brigham Pope

I'm from Utah. I'm a scientist. I'm a missionary. I love the Lord and sustain His prophet. And I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am 20 years old. I love swimming. I was the captain of the school swim team. I got up every morning at 5 a.m. to go to practice. Needless to say, it was hard, but I pulled through it. I love/hate the butterfly stroke. I am a person who loves the world of science. I was the Sterling Scholar of Science at my school. I loved to design my own experiments. Science always came easily to me and intrigued me. I have always been particularly drawn to the fields of Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Physiology. I graduated as an International Baccalaureate Diploma candidate. I am currently attending Brigham Young University majoring in Biochemistry. I hope to one day do medical research. As I've studied the sciences, not only have I seen the testimony-confirming craftsmanship of this earth God has created, I have repeatedly seen His hand helping me and increasing my abilities. Dedicating this gift to research that will help God's children is the best way I know to thank Him for it all. I recently returned from my full time mission in the Texas San Antonio Mission (The Mighty TSAM). I look forward to getting married and starting my own family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I know that God is my loving Heavenly Father and I know that Jesus Christ paid the ultimate price and opened the way so that we might be saved. The reason I know Them is because they have restored the knowledge of Their nature to us once again. I have read the Book of Mormon. It has taught me more about my Savior than any other book I have or could read. I know They appeared to Joseph Smith. Because of him, Their chosen prophet, I know "[my] Redeemer and the very points of his doctrine, that [I] may know how to come unto him and be saved." (Book of Mormon, 1 Nephi 15:14). I love this Gospel! I love that it was restored! Come and see!

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by this simple phrase that I learned on my mission: "All in!" I am fully consecrated to what I believe. I recognize that everything I do has a purpose. When I choose to follow the Prophet, when I choose to act in accordance with God's commandments, when I choose the right, I am really choosing to show my Heavenly Father and my Savior that I love them and that I'm eternally grateful for their great sacrifice for me. I want to give my full heart to His work and His glory. I don't want to hold anything back. I have an unshaken testimony based on the four essential truths: That Jesus Christ is the Son of Man, the Savior and Redeemer, that Joseph Smith was His chosen prophet to restore the fullness of His gospel to us, that the Book of Mormon is a true, revealed book of scripture that teaches us of our Savior, and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Lord’s true church on the earth, headed by the Lord’s chosen prophet, Thomas S. Monson. I say it is unshaken because people have tried to shake it, but it has not been shaken. I stand by the Prophet. I know he has been called of God. Whatever he says is the mind and will of the Lord. Lots of doubt and confusion have arisen recently. Questioning the Lord's prophet and his choices. People, even those who used to know with all their heart like I do, allow the parts they do not know hinder the parts they do know. I try to pattern my life around the principles taught in John 6:66-69. Peter, though many left the companionship of the Lord, knew and was sure that He was the Son of God, and that he was following in the Master's footsteps. He knew that much. Nothing else mattered.
