Hi I'm Summer Dains

I love to smile! :) I enjoy playing piano and spending time with my family! I am a Mormon. I know it. I live it. I love it! :)

About Me

I am 20 years old and I love having fun with the people I love most. My favorite things to do are play piano and guitar. I am also super competitive, so I enjoy watching and playing sports! I love ice skating, biking, jogging, playing Ultimate Frisbee and basketball, surfing, pranking people's houses, spending time on the beach, and just trying new things. I have the BEST job ever at an ice skating rink, and the most amazing co-workers! My best friend is my big brother. I have the most fun being around him. I just recently attended school at BYU-Idaho and I absolutely loved it. I am now currently a Dental Hygiene student at Florida State College at Jacksonville.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because this is the gospel of happiness! I have been a member for my whole life and I wouldn't have it any other way. The Book of Mormon is the word of God. There is no doubt about it. It goes hand in hand with the Bible, and is the most correct of any book. As I consistently pray, read my scriptures, listen to the prophets, and attend seminary and institute, the spirit confirms to me that these things are true. My desire to serve God increases. As I do these things, I have a sure knowledge of God's eternal plan for me. I know that this gospel can literally change lives. It has definitely changed mine. God is constantly blessing his children and his miracles are seen continuously. As I read the Book of Mormon and the Bible the Holy Ghost confirms to my heart and mind that the things taught are true principles. This is God's church that he estalished on the earth. It is perfect. My favorite scripture is Joshua 1:9. It says, "Have I not commanded thee? Be strong and of good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest." I love this scripture because it builds my courage. I know that God is always with me and will always direct my path, so there is no need to be afraid. He wants so much to give us blessings and see his children happy. I know that obeying every commandment with exactness and doing the things that I know to be right will lead to long lasting happiness. I know that families can be together forever, and I look forward to raising a family of my own. I know that if I am simply obedient to God's commandments and come to him, he will reach out with open arms. Because of this I can proudly say that I AM a Mormon!

How I live my faith

I live my faith on a daily basis by doing things that will help me draw closer to my Savior. Each morning I start off my day by reading my scriptures and praying. I live my faith by attending church each Sunday. I play the organ for my congregation during sacrament meeting, and accompany the choir on the piano. I am also a Beehive advisor in the Young Women's program, and I have the opportunity to teach the 12-13 year old girls. I love to make others feel good, and I try to bring out the best in everyone. Recently I have enjoyed teaching lessons with the sister missionaries. There is nothing more rewarding than experiencing the miracles and blessings of being a member missionary. I feel so much joy doing the Lord's work. I love sharing the gospel with my friends. It makes me so happy when they ask me questions about my church. I try to live my life like Christ. I know that everything I do and say will have some type of an influence on others. I strive daily to live up to my full potential and do the things that God would have me do since I am representing Him and His church.

What is being a Mormon like?

Summer Dains
Being a Mormon is the greatest thing ever! I cannot think of any other way to live. One of the main reasons for being here on earth is to have joy. I have never felt so much peace in my life from knowing and having that knowledge that I am a literal Daughter of my Heavenly Father who loves me. In a world where standards are being pushed aside and sin is becoming more and more acceptable, the church is the one thing I can count on to never change. The church is perfect. Although many people like to focus on the things Mormons "cant" do, I prefer to focus on the things we "can" do. To me being a Mormon means living my religion at all times. Not just on Sundays or when it happens to be convenient or popular. As Latter Day Saint members, we have countless opportunities to serve others. Love is the essence of the gospel. Being a Mormon makes life that much happier. Mormon life is truly the BEST life. :) Show more Show less
