About Me

My name is Pamela and I am a Mormon. I live in Hampshire in the UK and am a widow. I was born in 1939.

Why I am a Mormon

The missionaries called when I prayed for help. I know this is the true Church was baptised in 1971 having asked of God if the Book of Mormon was true and if Joseph Smith was indeed a prophet. I felt without a shadow of a doubt that it is true. As the only member of my family in the church it was not easy with four young children and a husband who after a few years made it impossible for me to attend church on Sundays. So to try and keep the family together I stopped going, but kept in touch until that also ceased. That marriage ended in divorce in the end and I met a dear man when my children were grown up and living their own lives. He became my soul mate, and we married in June 1987. He was 25 years older than me, but we were blessed to have a wonderful life together. He helped me back to church and was very supportive. He was taken home in 2008- aged 94 years. Whilst my husband was beginning to need more and more care, my second child was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Life was getting more and more difficult, but through my faith I was able to keep going. My daughter was taken home in June 2007 and losing her hit the family very hard, but with help from Heavenly Father and Jesus, plus church members I was able to support them and continue nursing my husband until he died.

How I live my faith

Before my beloved husband died, he asked me to get the work done for him in the temple as soon as I could. So a year later, he was baptised into the Church and we were sealed in the London Temple on March 27th 2010. The work for my daughter was also done and she was sealed to us. I try to do what I can to help others and have been given a calling as relief society visiting teaching coordinator, which has helped me get to know more about my sisters in the Church. I am so thankful for the love and help I get daily from my beloved heavenly father and Jesus Christ and that they accepted my repentance and took me back into the fold again. Knowing that the temple work that has been done for my ancestors up to having the sealings done, has bought me great joy in the knowledge that we will be together again one day.
