Hi I'm Julia Satterthwaite

I will be the first young woman missionary from both sides of my ancestry and my ward, and I love being Mormon.

About Me

I've lived in Utah my whole life, I grew up in the church, and will be serving a mission in the Tallahassee Florida mission. I love long boarding, biking, hiking, reading, and being with my family. I would like to be a mechanical engineer when I go to college.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up in the gospel presents different roadblocks than that of a convert. BUT, even those that grow up in the church have to convert. The person who decides to be a member of this church at the age of 80 is no different than a child growing up in it, in the context that they both have to learn, change and accept. I am still going through this process. Every time I pray, I know he is there. Every time I see the temples, I know he is there. And because I know I am my Heavenly Father's daughter, every time i look in the mirror, I know he is there.

How I live my faith

I was laurel president for a year and a half before I was called to be on the seminary counsel. Now that school is out, however, I am preparing to go on a mission. Being the first missionary in my immediate family is interesting, and being the first young women missionary on both sides of my ancestry and my ward is also interesting. Living in Utah me and my friends try and take the opportunity to get our families' work done. We have done many temple road trips where we do baptisms for the dead in at least six temples in one day. It is an amazing experience to even see these temples, let alone go inside them.
