Hi I'm James

I am from Idaho. I play tennis. I am a farm boy. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have lived in Idaho for most of my life. My family and I love it here because we are so near such amazing places like Yellowstone National Park. We visit there often and love every second there together. My family includes my mom and dad, my older brother, me, my younger brother, and my two little sisters. I just graduated high school in the class of 2013. Throughout my high school career, I learned to play tennis and played on the team all four years. I played boys doubles with one of my best friends for the last two years, and we had much success. For the past few summers, I have worked with my cousin on his farm. It is hard work, but I thoroughly enjoy it. In my spare time, I love to hang out with my friends and play sports (especially tennis and ultimate Frisbee). I will be serving an lds mission for the next two years in Mexico, after which, I will be attending college. I do not know exactly what I want to be when I grow up, but I am sure I will figure it out in time. In the long run, I want to have a family that I provide for and support.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and have always had my parents as an amazing example to me. The have taught me all my life about what is right and what is wrong. As a young child, I always leaned on their testimonies of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. As I have grown and matured, I have had amazing opportunities to attend EFY (especially for youth) which has helped me to strengthen and build my own testimony. I have read the Book of Mormon and I know that it is absolutely true. I know that Joseph Smith translated it and, with the guidance from God, restored the true church along with the authority and power of Christ. I know that Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father appeared to Joseph and gave him the direction to do this work. Joseph was a prophet and I know that Thomas S. Monson is our true and living prophet this day. He, along with the rest of the first presidency and the 12 apostles, guides us in these latter days. I know that the Plan of Salvation is true, and because of it, our families can be eternal. I know that Christ knows each and every one of us by name, and he loves us. I know that he suffered for my sins in order to fulfill the Plan of Salvation so that we can return to our Father in Heaven. I know that through obedience to God's commandments, we can find true happiness. My testimony means the world to me. Because of this church, I know the truth. I know why I am here. I know who I am. I know that I am a child of God.

How I live my faith

In my church, I have had a few callings in which I have had the opportunity to grow in my faith and act as a leader for some of my peers in my ward. I attend church each week with desires to learn more. I study the gospel often to strengthen my faith in the church. I prepare each day to serve my mission in Mexico. I participate in service projects for people living in my ward boundaries as well as community service projects.
