Hi I'm Alden Simmons

I am an athlete, a musician and a ballroom dancer

About Me

I am a Phlebotomist. I will be attending podiatry school this year. Playing tennis with my wife is my favorite activity right now. We don't have any kids but we hope to start a family in the future.

Why I am a Mormon

We all have our trials and challenges in this life. No one can avoid them. I have found great strength and the ability to change myself and my character through the gospel of Jesus Christ. It was not easy discovering the power within the Gospel, but it has changed my life forever and I am eternally grateful for it. I read the Book of Mormon in high school, along with the Bible and other religious books. By applying the teachings found in those texts, I began to feel that what they taught was right and correct. Eventually, after a lot of study and praying I received a confirmation, simply a good feeling, that Jesus is our savior and that the Book of Mormon is true. Through the years that simple good feeling has grown and I can say without a doubt that this is the true church on the earth and whoever seeks peace and happiness need only put forth an honest effort to find out whether this is true and they will discover for themselves whether it is or not.

How I live my faith

Where I live there are a lot of young adults. and one of the ways that we all stay connected and have a strong community is our family nights. Even though the majority of us live far away from our families, we meet as a community family once a week to learn from each other, develop friendships, and be spiritually uplifted. I am in charge of organizing and planning out the activities we do every week and it has been such a blessing to meet so many wonderful people and develop so many good friends who live so close.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Alden Simmons
I came to have a personal relationship with my Heavenly Father through prayer and pondering. I pray to my Father in Heaven about everything that is happening in my life. I am his child and he is my Father. I know that he is interested in even my small troubles and problems. I talk with him as if He were kneeling next to me while I say my prayers. Speaking to God is important, but equally important is listening for his answers. Spending time in silence, and pondering on what is happening in my life helps me to feel what God wants me to do. Through my thoughts and impressions he has helped me to make crucial decisions and has given me answers to some of my most intimate questions. I know that He loves me and He loves all of his children. He wants us to be happy and to have a relationship with him. Show more Show less
