Hi I'm Spencer

I'm passionate about investment banking, private equity, and Steinbeck. I love Reggae music. Oh, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of 8 children. As of the time of this writing, I have less than 4 days until I leave for a 2 year mission in Malaga, Spain. As I progressed through my first year of college, I developed a passion for Finance, and specifically, the world of investment banking. Investment banking is an industry involving the issuance of stocks and debt, acquisition/sale of companies, and a variety of other services relating to large allocations of capital. My goal is to work at a bulge-bracket firm (a company that receives lots of deal volume) after I graduate college, preferably in a division that specializes in Private Equity (aka flipping companies with other people's money) transactions. What do I like? I enjoy all forms of music, including Reggae, Techno, and Classic Rock. I find myself enchanted by the books written by John Steinbeck and Ernest Hemingway; they write in a way that strikes me as down-to-earth yet profound. Oh, and I also like normal things, like video games, chilling with friends, and fine dining.

Why I am a Mormon

The faith is fulfilling; it resonates strong with me spiritually, philosophically, and socially. i find it so fulfilling, in fact, that i have decided to dedicate two years of my life to it as a full-time missionary.

How I live my faith

I attend church every Sunday. i abide by a law of health and refrain from foul media. I pay a full-tithe. Sometimes, when attendance at church is low, I will help pass or bless the sacrament. Every once in a while I prepare a talk on gospel topics for an audience of about 150 people.
