Hi I'm Rick

I'm from California. I love the sunrise. The beach on a sunny day is perfect. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the third of four children in our 6 person 1 dog family. I love being outside, playing sports, any sport really, and being active on a sunny day. I am studying political science in college. I am currently enrolled in the Army ROTC, competing to be an officer in the United States Army.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents have been members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints their whole lives, so naturally I attended as a little boy, and even into my teenage years. It was when I was about 15 years old that I understood the roll of God in my life. He does exist and knows us each individually, very well. I felt that I would put what I had been taught as a child to the test. I experimented living the Gospel of Jesus Christ, just to see what it would be like. I felt happiness and hope in a point of my life that was very dark, depressing, and appeared that there was no hope. I cannot deny the fact that Christ is the Son of God. I cannot deny the Fact that God lives and watches over us. I cannot deny the fact that the Holy Ghost testified all of this to me. I know that Christ suffered for our sins so that we might be clean. Repentance is a process we all go through various times in our lives. There is no other process that would be more fulfilling than Repentance. I am so grateful for this knowledge that I have. It really is everything to me.

How I live my faith

I served a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It was hands down the best thing I have ever done to this day. I am the man, I am today because of those two years. I learned patience, hope, humility, charity, obedience, and service. I hold those two years very close to me. I served in the great country, Brazil. Us, as the human family, are the children of God. He created us, and through my service in those two years, and service in my local church, I have learned, seen, and felt the love that God has for each and every one of us. Many have asked, heck, I have asked many times, "Why does God let people suffer?" The answer is simple: He loves us and wants us to grow. It would be way to easy if He fixed all of our problems. We cannot blame God for difficulties, it makes no sense to blame Him! Think about it, naturally we will all die, God doesn't want you to suffer alone on this earth, death is just something that happens. We will never be able to avoid it. Also, think about families being broken and torn apart by unfaithful family members, would it make sense that God would want such a thing? Of course not. God is a God of love, peace, and order. He trusts you and me to follow His son, Jesus Christ, and learn how to be happy in this life! I follow Christ, I am happy.
