Hi I'm Jenni

I am a daydreamer. I love soundtrack music. I love reading. I love writing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I spend a lot of my free time writing. I love writing, reading, listening to soundtrack music, and watching movies. I basically just love stories. I am a college student that is very undecided on what to major in or do next. I am a very big soccer fan, and an American football fan. I love playing and watching sports. I love camping, especially near a river or lake- I enjoy kayaking or just being near the water. I also love spending time with my family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe that the church is the restored church of Jesus Christ. When I was younger, I felt that I was only a member because my parents were members. I read the Book of Mormon on my own and then prayed to know if it was really the word of God. Heavenly Father answered my prayer, confirming that the church is true. I have had so many experiences in my life that have strengthened my testimony and that have made it so I know for sure that God exists and that He loves all of his children, no matter what. I know that I have a purpose in this life and that through Heavenly Father's plan, I will be with my family for eternity. Knowing these things makes me very happy, and that's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Since I attend college, I go to church with other students around my age. We have a lot of social gatherings and activities where we get to know each other better. My responsibility for church is to choose the songs for the church meetings. Every Sunday I get up at the front and lead the congregation in a song. I was at first very nervous since I did not know how to lead music, but once I learned I looked forward to doing it each Sunday.

Why did your church previously practice plural marriage (polygamy)?

In our time, polygamy seems very different, but in the bible, the commandment was given to prophets like Moses and Abraham. At other times, the Lord also instructed against plural marriage, like to the prophet Jacob. The Lord may have commanded the early Saints to practice plural marriage to help establish the House of Israel, and I believe that he may have been testing the obedience of the Saints and their willingness to follow Him.
