Hi I'm Jacob

I'm from Orem, Utah I love basketball and football I'm one of eleven children I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love to play and watch sports, mostly basketball and football. I am going on a mission to Singapore where I will speak Mandarin Chinese. After I plan to attend BYU where I will major in business and minor in Chinese. I love my big family of ten siblings where half of them are married and with children.

Why I am a Mormon

I was lucky enough to be blessed into this Gospel. For about 18 years I have leaned on my parent's testimonies. But as my senior year in high school came along, many events took place in my life that let the spirit testify of the truth of the Gospel. Throughout my youth I have always hoped that everything in the church is true, but now I know. My senior year I read the Book of Mormon for the first time. In fact I read it three times in that year because of how much I love it. I feel that every word written in that book was meant for me. I have also come to know the truth of Joseph Smith. One day in Seminary, we sang the song "Joseph Smith's First Prayer" right after some missionaries recited the First Vision. At that moment I felt the spirit testify to me that he was a true prophet of the Lord and he restored this true gospel. I have no proof of this to be true. No proof, except for the Book of Mormon and the way I felt that day. There is no way I can deny the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith. I also know of God's love for me and everyone else. I know He loves me because I can feel him listening to me every time I pray. Sometimes I can even feel him kneeling beside me. I know through experience that God answers prayers. I prayed, with faith, for my own testimony my sophomore year. For two years I didn't receive an answer. All I could do was push forward with faith, knowing in time, my prayer will be answered. I also prayed for a friend of mine to strengthen his testimony. It didn't take until two years later when he realized he had to change. God loves me. He bleed for me. He suffered for me. He died for me. I have also realized that He has felt every joy and happiness that I have felt. I am never alone. There is always someone who loves me and knows how I feel. That someone is my Savior Jesus Christ. And that is my I'm going on a mission. So I can show everyone I meet the love Christ has for them.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by always being worthy. By always trying to make Christ proud of me. I have and always will fulfill anything God asks of me. Whether it be simply serving my family, or sacrificing two years of my young life to invite others in the world to come unto him. I am constantly trying to please my Savior more and more each day.
