Hi I'm Christy

I'm a closet crocheter. I love math with all my heart. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a passion for math. In a high school calculus class I worked harder than I ever had in school and it felt so good to excel at something I put so much of myself into. I also have a passion for education, which grew as I came in contact with those who have a gift to teach. I admire those people. So I decided to study math education in collage and am excited to teach high school (hopefully calculus) one day. I love learning and reading, both things I inherited from my grandma I'm sure. I love talking with people. So naturally talking about what I've learned is my favorite. I love my family more than anything, especially being an aunt to 6 rambunctious boys with one spoiled niece thrown in the mix.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have personally felt the truth of the gospel, and God's love for me. As I've prepared to go on a mission especially I feel His love not only for me but for His children everywhere. I know the spirit will speak to us in ways we understand. Not only in a language we understand, but we can feel the spirit in very personal ways, through people we trust, or through the activities and passions we choose to pursue. The gospel is personal. We are individual children of our Father in Heaven who is mindful of us. Because He loves us he sent his son to atone for our sins. Through that atonement we are strengthened everyday to do hard things. The message of the gospel is one of love. I'm excited to serve and share what I've felt with others.

How I live my faith

I will live my faith as I serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Novosibirsk, Russia. What better way to live my faith than by doing something I love for 18 months? It will be my full time job to talk to new people about what I've learned about the gospel and God's love for his children.
