Hi I'm Shawnee

I grew up in southern Utah. I've been called to serve the people of Tallahassee, FL. I love my Savior and this Gospel!

About Me

I love athletics and being outdoors. During high school I played soccer and rugby. I love my family and friends more then anything! I've finished my first two years of college and earned my Associates. My dream is to become a Neonatal nurse, because I love babies. One of my favorite things to do is photography. I love to meet new people, and be able to make a difference in their lives. In my family I am the oldest of four younger brothers. My mom is my hero, and my dad is a true example of a dedicated worker. Overall I'm just an ordinary girl, trying to live my life with a positive attitude and a smile on my face!

Why I am a Mormon

By going through my own struggles in my life, I know and I believe that because of this Gospel in my life I can continue on with a smile on my face. It's an amazing feeling to always feel loved and wanted no matter what. To know that I, myself, is special and beautiful. Because I have a Heavenly Father that loves me for me. And knowing that he knows me individually, means more to me then anything in this world. And by knowing this, I know what my purpose is here on this earth. I know that I am a true Daughter of God, and because of this I know that I can achieve anything. Knowing that I can always turn to my Savior and Heavenly Father for anything at anytime is so comforting. Seeing the love of God surround you and others is life changing and such a blessing. By being a Mormon, I've been blessed and humbled countless of times. Because of this gospel and the teaches of this church I'm so grateful and filled with happiness inside my heart. I am Mormon because I know, with all of my heart and soul that this is the True Church of Jesus Christ. I am Mormon, and I Know it. I live it. And I love it!

How I live my faith

I've currently been called to serve as a sister missionary to the people in Tallahassee, FL, for the next 18 months. I've learned in my life so far the importance of forgiveness in my life as my family has gone though the struggle of divorce. And from having true forgiveness for myself and others I've found true happiness and love. Living a day at a time, and really making sure that I am making the best of any situation that I am in has helped me understand why I am here, and what my purpose is. And by doing those simple things I've helped the people around me understand the exact same things, but for themselves.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

To me having a Family is one of the greatest gifts to have. Im so grateful for my family and for everything that they do for me. When you have a family you have to remember that your family is the ones you will share so much of your time with. And within that time you will have some of the greatest memories and some of the worst. And as having a family you share so much with one another and as a family you will grow and learn how to love, serve, forgive, teach, and respect from each other. By going through challenges and together you'll all develop and grow stronger together. And I believe that we were all chosen to be with the families we are now for a reason. In this gospel God says that the family is the center of his plan for his children here on earth. Being a family is so important to Mormons because we know that families can be together forever, and who wouldn't want that. To know that no matter what you can always be with the ones you truly love. Show more Show less
