Hi I'm Tilane

I love being creative (crafts, party planning or anything else)! My husband & I have 5 wonderful children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love my wonderful husband and am grateful to have eternity with him, my best friend. I love being a mother of my five children (most of the time). I love to sing, play sports and make all sorts of crafts. I love to be creative in planning parties and gift giving. I love to read and learn new things. Most of my time right now is spent being a busy mother. As a busy mother I'm a taxi driver, chef, cleaner, organizer, bank, diaper changing extraordinaire, teacher, potty trainer, coach, nurse and so much more! When my children are older, I plan to finish what I started in university and become an elementary school teacher.

Why I am a Mormon

My mom was 18 when missionaries started teaching her about the LDS faith (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or Mormons). She met my dad who had been a part of this religion his whole life. Both of them had strong convictions of the truth's that were taught to them. At a young age, I wanted to know for myself if the things my parents taught me and the church taught me were true. So I did what the bible told me to do. I got down on my knees and fervently & sincerely asked God in prayer if the LDS Church was true. I wasn't expecting anything like lightning bolts, but I also wasn't expecting the feelings I did get. I felt so good! I was excited and I felt peace at the same time. I felt so much joy that I started to cry. I knew that was my answer. I knew the church was true! I know that everyone can know the truths of the gospel, by doing the same thing. You can know, by learning and then by praying sincerely!

How I live my faith

I learn so much as I volunteer for different responsibilities in the congregation I attend. I currently plan and organize meetings, activities, and service projects for the women in our local church congregation. We learn things like: canning food & making bread, beautifying & organizing our homes, how to parent & build strong family relationships, keeping our life balanced (emotionally, spiritually, intellectually & physically), serving in our community, and anything else we might want to learn about. I have also taught children's classes at church, conducted music, sung in choirs, planned activities for girls ages 8-11, been a secretary and served in leadership roles. All of these opportunities have taught me new things and have helped me to become a better person.
