Hi I'm Rachel

I love geology and music. I am from Indiana, and serving a mission in California. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of 6 children. I love to sing, play guitar, and play piano. I LOVE to study cool rocks in Utah's canyons and anywhere else I can get my hands on them. I'm studying geology and music at Brigham Young University. I am currently serving a mission in California because I want others to come closer to Christ and feel the same joy I have been blessed with because of this gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because without His gospel, I would be lost. My faith in Christ and His Atonement has helped me overcome depression and given me a direction for my life. The gospel has given me happiness and peace when I needed it the most. I know that Heavenly Father will continue to be with me and love me and answer my prayers because I am His daughter. He loves me so much that He sent His son to die for me and pay for my sins and weaknesses. He helps me overcome my hardest trials and perfectly understands everything I'm going through. Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer and I know that He lives. I know that I can be with my family forever. I know with all of my heart that the Book of Mormon is true. I know Joseph Smith was a true prophet and translated the Book of Mormon and restored Christ's true church through the power of God. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is Christ's true church. I have found out for myself and you can too.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day, especially since I am serving a mission. I remember that Christ is always by my side, always willing to help with whatever I am struggling with. I share our beliefs with those that will hear and invite them to learn more and to pray and ask our Heavenly Father if it is true. Back home, I lead the music in our sacrament meeting. In the past, I have been a leader in the class for 18 month- 3 year old's and played piano for the ward choir and different classes. One of my favorite things to do is pray to my Heavenly Father through music for "the song of the righteous is a prayer unto [him]" (D&C 25:12).
