Hi I'm Carri

I was born and raised in California. I love my family, cheerleading, and hiking. I'm a mormon.

About Me

My name is Carri. I currently am attending BYU. I am from a huge family, 9 kids. And the cool thing is that the youngest four are adopted from Russia! I love my family so much, they mean the world to me. I love cheerleading and tumbling. I would do it everyday for 10 hours if I could. I also love hiking, especially in Utah, its gorgeous. I love the beach as well, but I'm not much of a swimmer or surfer, I just like how pretty it is. I just really love beautiful sights, like landscapes or castles or churches. Which is why I love traveling so much, seeing the culture and sights in different places and countries is so amazing. I also love kids! I was a gymnastics coach, nanny, and volunteered at many elementary schools. The sweet little souls are children make me so happy, I love them. I actually think I get connect with kids more than I do with people my own age.

Why I am a Mormon

Let me just say, I LOVE this church, this gospel, our prophet, and everything else about this beautiful church. Some of my friends that are not members of the church think that I have to give up so much (like keeping the sabbath day holy, no alcohol, and always wearing modest clothing) but the truth is, I am not giving up anything. This gospel is the best thing in my life. I know that this is the true church and that Joseph Smith was called of God to restore it. I know that our current prophet, Thomas S. Monson, is also called of God and was chosen to minister to us. Whatever He says is directly from God. I know that God knows us personally, one by one, knows our name, desires, trials, and He knows us more than we know ourselves. I know that Jesus Christ also loves us and knows us, and that He died for us, He suffered for our sins, He loves us so much that he would go through so much pain so we can also return to our Father in heaven. By living the commandants and being a member of this church I have received so many blessings in my life. I wouldn't give us this gospel in my life for anything else.

How I live my faith

BYU is a mormon centered school so many things are centered around the Church. One thing that I do is visiting teaching. Its where once a month, me and another girl, go visit two other girls. We get to know them, love them, spend time with them, and teach them. I get such a great feeling after and I really do love who I teach and who I am teaching with. At BYU, every Tuesday morning there are devotionals where someone comes and teaches the school a spiritual message. This is a great way to start my day and the message I get from it is always carried with me throughout the week and makes it so much better!

How can I know Mormonism is true?

READ THE BOOK OF MORMON! Also pray about it, think about it (sincerely), listen to your heart and feelings from the Holy Ghost, follow the commandments. Show more Show less

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

A testimony is something that you believe and know to be true. Its something that is a part of you, through experiences, reading the Book of Mormon, praying, following the commandments, going to church, reading church magazines or books, all of these things lead to feelings and thoughts that become part of a person. They get a sure feeling that the things that are taught are true and right. Some things could be: That president Monson is our prophet today, that Joseph Smith restored the church, that Jesus Christ died for us and that He lives today, that God lives and loves us, that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church on the Earth today.
