Hi I'm Jake Spainhower

I grew up in Utah. I am about to leave to be a missionary in Xalapa Mexico. I am a mormon.

About Me

My name is Jake. I live in Utah and am getting ready to go on a mission. I was called to serve in the Mexico Xalapa mission and I'm leaving here in a few weeks. I love golfing, watching sports, being with friends and family, and being active. I work at a pawn shop with my grandpa and my cousins. I am planning on going to school when I return from my mission and getting a degree in accounting.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because of the happiness this church has brought to my life. Each day I am blessed to feel the comfort of knowing that God loves me and has a plan for me. Being a mormon and living the standards this church teaches has brought me health and strength. By avoiding things like drugs and alcohol I have been blessed to have been healthy my whole life. Overall this gospel brings me the peace of knowing that if I live worthily I can return to live with my father in heaven and be with my family for all eternity.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by making goals to read and study the book of mormon daily. There is always something new to learn in that book if you really study and pray about it. Like I previously mentioned I am preparing to serve a 2 year mission. This is something I have always planned on doing. Up until the last few months I haven't really wanted to do it for me but rather because it was a commandment. Through spiritual experiences my testimony has grown and I want to share this gospel with everyone. I teach small children ages 8-9 in sunday school. We are currently learning about our first prophet Joseph Smith and the restoration of this gospel. I try hard each day to keep my standards of living such as: refraining from drugs, alcohol, swearing, and immorality. I strive to visit the temple once a week because I love the peace I feel there.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Jake Spainhower
We do not worship Joseph Smith in any way. We view Joseph Smith as a prophet of this dispensation, just as Moses was a prophet of old. Joseph Smith is a representative of our savior Jesus Christ. We worship Jesus Christ and our father in heaven. Show more Show less
