Hi I'm Cami

I grew up in the pacific northwest. I love reading, traveling, and eating ice cream. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of my family of five. Growing up in a small town along the Puget Sound, I quickly learned to love the rain and trees. I am currently a student at BYU majoring in accounting; however, I'm preparing to serve a mission in the Philippines for the next 18 months. I love reading, cooking, and watching movies but I also love anything outdoors, especially when it's sunny. I have had many opportunities to travel while growing up. I love exploring other countries and cultures and hope to be able to travel more after I graduate.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it brings me greater happiness than anything else in my life. Growing up as a member, I think I took for granted what the gospel provided in my family. However, after leaving for college, I realized that the love and happiness I consistently felt in my life came from my knowledge of the gospel and my commitment to live the commandments. It was then, that I made a promise to myself to always strive to do my best so that someday I could return back to Heavenly Father. I am nowhere near being perfect, but I know that because of the Atonement I am able to repent of my sins and be cleansed. There is such a great power of unconditional love and sacrifice in the Atonement. Christ died for my sins, my weaknesses, shortcomings, and mistakes, so that I would have the opportunity to return back to live with Him, and our Heavenly Father. In my life, I have had countless prayers answered and have seen many miracles happen because of the love of Jesus Christ. I know that when I am feeling alone, or in moments when I feel as though I just can’t make it on my own, I can find comfort and peace in Christ. He is always there to support me through whatever I may be experiencing. He felt every pain, burden, and affliction that I have ever experienced, or will ever experience. His resurrection is a constant source of hope and love, and through him, we can find happiness. I know that Christ lives and loves us and I am so grateful to have this knowledge and to have the opportunity to share it with others.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving everyday to emulate Christ's example of love, faith, forgiveness, and charity. He's the perfect example and I know that if I follow Him, I can grow closer to Heavenly Father and someday return back to Him. Striving to be like Christ can seem like a daunting or impossible task because He was perfect in every way, but I think you can make it possible by focusing on the small things - by being patient and courteous, by smiling at strangers and saying thank you. Currently, I'm living my faith by preparing to serve a mission where I'll be sharing the gospel with others. As a representatie of Jesus Christ, I hope to bring others to the knowledge that I have that will bless the lives of others.
