Hi I'm Nathan Larsen

I'm a musician, an amateur astronomer, and currently a missionary in Canada. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Utah, and am currently a student studying biological engineering at Utah State University. I've always loved music, and it has always played (no pun intended) a large part in my life. I've always been a part of one musical group or another, from piano recitals and band concerts when I was young to jazz gigs with my friends. I enjoy hunting, skiing, reading, and am a science fiction enthusiast. Astronomy has always been an interest of mine, and I have many fond memories of frosty nights with my dad and a telescope. I'm an aspiring scientist, although I'm having trouble deciding which field I should pursue.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know for myself that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, our Savior and our Redeemer. He atoned for our sins and died for us. But I also know that He lives for us. I am a Mormon because I know that through righteous living and following the example set by the Savior, we can return to God and be reunited with our families. This is a subject especially close to me, because I lost my father when I was younger. Nonetheless, I am comforted to know that I can be with my dad, and the rest of my family, again. I know this because of the Book of Mormon--there's an excerpt at the end that tells us that if we ask God if these things are true, we will receive an answer. So I asked God, I prayed to know whether or not the Book of Mormon is true, and through that knowledge, I would also know that the teachings of the "Mormon Church" are true. Simply put, I received my answer. That's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Well, I'm currently serving a mission. I was called to serve in the Canada, Edmonton mission, and am thoroughly enjoying it. I love serving the people here, and will do the best I can to continue serving them throughout my mission. My hope is to share some of the joys that have come to me by living the gospel of Jesus Christ.
