Hi I'm Alanna

I'm Canadian, a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in Pocatello Idaho and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am 22 years old, I grew up on the wet West Coast of Canada. I played rugby,I love to read, I have recently discovered I enjoy cross country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter months, which are activities I thought were utterly geeky before but you should really give them a chance! I love my family,I know that sounds cheesy but they really are my best friends! I spend far more time with them than I do with friends! I love Disney and Pixar movies, they really are the best, I think I get more excited to see them than most children...and I am not ashamed!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a part member family. my mom is very active in the church, my dad is not a member. This was hard sometimes but I think that it really gave me the strength to stand on my own two feet and develop my own testimony at a young age rather than relying on my other's to get me by. I have gone through periods of inactivity in my life but I always found that when I look back on those times they feel empty and lacking in purpose. I love this gospel and the peace it brings to my life. No matter what I am going through, I can have that eternal perspective about what is really important and with that have joy in my heart despite the trials I am experiencing. I know that my life has a purpose and I knowing what comes after death makes it no longer something to fear. I love how we are able to grow and change and become better people every day. None of us are perfect and that is ok! Every week we have the opportunity to start fresh,we don't need to become perfect all at once. Over time by small and seemingly insignificant decisions to do good and to be good we come closer to being like our heavenly father.I am grateful for the opportunity I have to share these truths with others, that they might experience the same peace, joy and happiness that I have found for my life through this gospel. I love seeing the difference it makes in people's lives. PLEASE study and pray to find out for yourselves if what I have testified of is indeed true. And may god be with you always .

How I live my faith

I am currently Serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving in the Pocatello Idaho mission, I have been out for 8 months. Before I left home I was and ordinance worker in the Vancouver Temple for three months in preparation for my mission.I was also the transportation coordinator for my branch, this means that I would work with the missionaries to find investigators, recent converts,or people who just have no way to church a ride to pick them up and bring them to church and activities. Before that I was the Relief Society teacher, Relief Society was my absolute favorite! I love the Sister's and the sweet spirit that they bring to class. I loved teaching that class even though I am pretty sure I learned more from them than they learned from me!
