Hi I'm Rockwell

I was born and raised in Mesa, Arizona. I love sports, music, and my family. I'm a future missionary and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just graduated highschool and am preparing to serve a mission in El Salvador and Belize. I graduated in the top 10% of my class. I'm not the smartest guy, but i have learned to work hard over the years through school, sports, and summer jobs. I played basketball and volleyball in highschool, but i love just about every sport out there. Basketball is my favorite sport to watch and even when the Phoenix Suns are horrible i still cheer for them. Before I leave for my mission i will attend BYU for a semester. I love listening to music and singing to the radio. I've played the piano since i was young, seems like a lot of mormons do that. I have a brother, a sister, and a mom and dad who are very supportive and i love them! Also, Jesus Christ is a huge part of my life. I'm excited to go to Central America in a couple of months to share with the people there that there is purpose to this life and that God loves each and every one of His children so much!

Why I am a Mormon

The Plan of Salvation (where we came from, why we are here, and where we are going) has given me much comfort over the years. My grandma passed away two years ago, and my grandpa passed away less than 6 months ago. The teachings of Jesus Christ, the Plan of Salvation, are found in the Book of Mormon in the book of Alma 40:11. This verse has given me comfort knowing that after this life, "we are taken home to the God that gave us life". I am comforted knowing that i will be able to see my grandpa and grandma and those that i love in the next life. In addition, despite being born and raised a Mormon, i have gained my own witness of the Book of Mormon by reading and praying about it, and then feeling peace and light in my own life because of it. Although there are other reasons i am Mormon, the knowledge of the Plan of Salvation and the Book of Mormon have helped me throughout the hard times and the good times in my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by praying everyday and looking to serve others throughout the day, even if a simple hello is all i do to try and brighten somebody's day. I attend church every Sunday and am eager to fulfill my duties that are assigned to me at church. I try my best to obey my parents and to make them proud. I listen to good uplifting music as often as i can. I don't smoke, drink alcohol, or do any drugs because i know God doesn't want me to indulge in any of those activities. I don't watch rated R movies as well. I have received my mission call and in a couple of months i will make the ultimate sacrifice my sacrificing 2 years of my life to serve the Lord by sharing His teachings with His children in Central America. I am doing this because I love the Lord! As President Gordon B Hinckley once said "Our kindness may be the most persuasive argument for that which we believe". I love this and i try my best to be kind and make others feel good about themselves, because that is what the Savior Jesus Christ would do.
