Hi I'm Keala

I grew up in Hawaii. I love my family. I'm a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just finished my first year of college. I love it there! The atmosphere and the things that I've learned in my freshman year of being there were amazing! I was able to learn so much and take advantage of the opportunities that helped me become the person I am today. My hobbies are playing volleyball, cruising at the beach and spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

The main reason why I'm Mormon is because I love my Heavenly Father and I know this is what He wants me to be. I've grown up in this church and have been taught many of the gospel's principles from a young age. My parents have taught me from a young age to love my Heavenly Father and to do things not because I want to make them happy, but because I want to make my Father in Heaven happy. Growing up in the gospel, I at times took things for granted. In my first couple years of High School, I made mistakes and fell a couple times. However, because of all the things this church offers I knew that I could get back up and keep going. I know that I have a Heavenly Father who loves us and cares for us. He doesn't like seeing when we stumble and make mistakes. When I made those mistakes in the past, I was able to learn of the love that He has for us. He sent His son, who has created the atonement so that we can repent of our sins and come unto Him. His love for us is eternal and endless. I know for a fact that Heavenly Father doesn't hold grudges and He wants all of His spirit children to come unto Him. I'm so grateful for the knowledge that He has blessed me with. I continue each day to try to become more like Jesus so that I may return to live with Them someday. I know that these things are true and this is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

From the age of 12, I've been able to serve in little capacities to live my faith. From the the age of 12-14, I served as the President over my age group of girls. As I turned 16, I was called to be the Junior Stake Committee Co-Vice President. In this calling, I planned activities for the youth in my stake as long as represented my stake at Tri-Stake Committee meetings. In that year alone, all of us together were able to plan Hawaii's first Tri-Stake LDS Prom and a Tri-Stake Youth Conference. It was amazing as all of these things worked out! My senior year, at the age of 17, my family moved out of the stake and in the new stake I was called to be the Co-President of the Stake Committee. In this calling, I had the same duties as the previous one except I was at the head of the committee planning meetings with my counter part. We had loads of fun as we planned more Tri-Stake activities and Youth Conference for our stake. After graduating from High School, I attended college. Within the first couple weeks of attending college, I was called as the second counselor in our women's group called the Relief Society. In this calling, I was able to work with girls my age and learn to love them unconditionally for who they were. I'm so happy that I'm Mormon, I've learned so much about giving service. I'm so excited to be giving service to my God as I've been called to serve in the Philippines Baguio Mission.
