Hi I'm Amy

Hey! I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I was born in California, but I grew up in Happy Valley Utah. I absolutely love sports and I swam competitively for twelve years. I am currently getting ready to serve a mission for the LDS Church in Argentina! In 18 months, after completing my mission I'll go back to college and pursue a degree in Exercise Science.

Why I am a Mormon

My whole life I was taught the principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ and what I need to do in order to return to my Father in Heaven. I grew up reciting primary answers when my teacher called on me in Sunday School. I relied heavily on my parents' testimonies. But, as I have grown up and come to realize for myself just how important the gospel is in my life, I am simply amazed. I am who I am today because of the influence the gospel has had on my life. So, why am I a Mormon? I'll tell you. I love the gospel. I love knowing that I am a child of a loving God. I love knowing that my Heavenly Father has a plan for me, and that I can always turn to him for help, comfort, and guidance. I love the knowledge that we have that families can be together forever. I love the peace that comes from studying the scriptures and kneeling in sincere prayer. I love that my Heavenly Father was willing to send his perfect son to come down to earth and suffer and die for the sins of the world so that I may be forgiven of my wrongs and return to live with Him someday. Most of all, I love my Savior, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

In my home ward I am currently teaching Sunday School! I'm in charge of the 15-16 year-olds. Sometimes it's a bit chaotic but it's a blast! I learn so much each week and it's fun to spend some time with the youth of the Church. I also have the opportunity to visit teach a girl just a year younger than me each month. We always have fun chatting and laughing. Before my companion and I leave we share an inspirational thought. I love it! I always leave motivated to "try a little harder to be a little better" in the words of Gordon B. Hinckley.
