Hi I'm Christina Marie

I'm an artist. I love music. I grew up in Nebraska. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm an artist. I am currently taking an ART class throught Stratford Career Institute. I love music. I live with my aunt and uncle. We have 5 cats and 3 dogs. I love spending time with family and friends. I enjoy nature, not only being outside but also learning about the plants & animals. I actually have 8 garden snails as "pets". I've always been interested in science. I have 2 children who live with my sister and brother in-law. I have been diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder, depression, and anxiety.

Why I am a Mormon

I started lessons with a few missionaries when I lived in Ashland. I enjoyed them very much but had to move back to my hometown to be closer to doctors, family and the other resources I needed. I left a friends house that I was visting and ran into two missionaries and one of them happened to be one that was teaching me in Ashland. After a short talk and exchanging numbers I continued home. A few weeks later I was walking home after having a really bad day and was an emotional wreck. As I was walking down the street crying because I didn't know what I was going to do about continuing to get my medicine after my insurance was discontinued I kept repeating in my mind, "God what am I supposed to do? I cant go without my medicine." After repeating that a few times I looked up to make sure i wasnt going to run into anybody and I ran into the same missionaries from a few weeks prior. That was my sign from about how to solve my problems. Since I began my lessons and got baptized many aspects of my life have improved. I know that Jesus Christ IS my Redeemer, the Book of Mormon is true, and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints as restored through Joseph Smith, a prophet of God, is the true church.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by following the Word of Wisdom, sharing my knowledge of the gospel with those who ask about "being Mormon" or with those who need an uplifting message. I am starting home visits very soon! I keep the Sabbath day holy by attending church and spending time with my family. I am kind to those I know and meet along the way as my faith grows and my journey through life continues. My biggest test of faith to this day is asking my sister to adopt my children after they were removed from my care because issues that arose from my mental illness. I am a recovering alcoholic as well. I pray often when faced with difficulties and tough decisions. I read scriptures daily wether its pertaining to a certain issue I look up in the index, or if i just open the Bible or Book of Mormon to a random page. I also like asking other people, members or non-members, who read the bible if they have any scriptures that they enjoy.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Christina Marie
Mormons believe in the Bible. We do not believe that the Book of Mormon takes place of the Bible. We believe it is another set of scriptures that will help us get to know God, the love he has for us, his teachings, and the plan he has for each and every one of us. Show more Show less
