Hi I'm Shay

I grew up in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I love to laugh and be with people. I'm a Mormon and I love it!

About Me

I'm a 19 year old college student at BYU still deciding what I want to study. I've always enjoyed school and am grateful I get to continue learning at such a wonderful university. I love tennis and even though I played all through high school, I love just playing for fun with my family. I love music and one of my favorite things is going to live performances or shows. I've worked as a chiropractic receptionist, a sales associate and a gardening/grounds worker. I love dressing up and accessorizing. My four siblings are some of my best friends. I love reading and watching movies. My dream job is being a wedding planner.

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored in its fullness and complete truth. It is found in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I know it's true, and that's why I am a Mormon. I am a Mormon because I have gained a testimony for myself. I've read The Book of Mormon and I know it's true. I have lived the teachings I have learned and that is how I know for myself that they are true. Being a Mormon is my greatest source of joy. It gives me peace, hope, happiness, confidence and faith. It is the answer to all of my questions. It doesn't mean my life is perfect, but knowing the truth helps me know how to live. It helps me know how to repent when I make a mistake. The gospel of Jesus Christ teaches me how to become more like my Savior. I love being a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving others in various church callings. Before I went off to college, I taught a class of four year olds. We talked about how to be grateful and love our family and try to be kind like Jesus. While I was in college I served as a visiting teacher. At least once a month I went with another girl in my ward and we visited a couple other girls in our apartment building. We shared a message about the gospel, visited about what was going on in their lives, and offered our help. I've been blessed to serve with the young women as I've grown up in doing service projects for other members of our church or community. I'm especially excited for my next big service opportunity as I serve as a full time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Frankfurt, Germany!
