Hi I'm Emily

I 'm the youngest of four siblings, I love animals, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I play the piano, I love to read, and play Frisbee and volleyball (Non professionally). I graduated from high school about a year ago, and I'm serving a mission in Richmond, Virginia, teaching in Spanish. I am 20 years old, the youngest of four siblings, with a sister and two brothers, all led by two wonderful parents.

Why I am a Mormon

I have a testimony of the truthfulness of this Gospel. I know that it has enriched my life in so many ways, not only because the standards are some that are good for everyone to try to live up to, but because I don't know where I would be without the companionship of the Holy Ghost to guide me. I know that He has helped me through so many hard times and I am definitely a better person for listening to His council, as well as living up to the standards. I know the Book of Mormon is the truest book on this earth and I agree with Joseph Smith when he said, "A man would get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts than by any other book." I'm so grateful that I have this Gospel in my life and I never want to be without it.

How I live my faith

I am serving a mission, preaching the Gospel to those who don't know about Christ and inviting people to come unto Him.

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Emily
Well, everything we have comes from the Lord and he only asks for 10% back. And when we give that back to Him, he returns the favor by pouring out the blessings of heaven upon us. I can say from experience that life is easier when we pay our tithing. Even if it is hard, Heavenly Father will bless us so much that it will be more than worth it. Like President Hinckley said, paying tithing is truly an opportunity and privilege. Show more Show less
