Hi I'm Nate Benfell

I'm a missionary in sunny California, a die-hard Gooner, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I just graduated High School in Northern Virginia, but I spent the bulk of the teenage years in Tokyo, Japan. I am an avid tennis player, and also enjoy playing many other sports recreationally. I'm also a huge Arsenal F.C. fan. I am very drawn to the outdoors, and love to do anything in nature, be it hiking, biking, rafting, caving, or anything else you can think of! I am currently serving a full-time mission in Long Beach, California, and following my service plan to attend college in Utah. I couldn't be more excited about what the future holds!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church since birth, so there was never a huge "conversion" moment or story, but instead over the course of my life, I have had numerous, subtle, yet powerful experiences that have testified to me that this church is true. It is from these moments that I draw strength and courage from, and upon these I base my testimony. I know that this is the Church of God on the Earth, and that its values and standards are the surest way to happiness. I am so grateful to have the gospel in my life, and I know that it will change anyone else's who takes the time to listen.

How I live my faith

I have served in leadership positions within the youth for many years, and being able to serve my peers has been very rewarding. I have had the opportunity to organize activities, orchestrate service opportunities, teach lessons, and all sorts of other events. I am currently serving as a missionary in Long Beach, California, and am teaching the gospel to the people there. Otherwise, I live my faith daily by striving to be a positive example to all those around me, Mormon and not.
