Hi I'm Alyssa Grenfell

I love running, climbing trees, and being happy. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently attending school at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. However, I'm about to take a year and a half break from school to go on a mission and serve the Lord in the Denver Colorado North mission! When I'm not preparing for a mission I like doing just about anything. I love nature, so living in the mountains where I can hike and explore is great. I'm majoring in English Teaching, and I love reading and writing. Especially reading. Life is great.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it brings me more happiness than anything else in the world. When I am living the truths of the gospel such as faith, repentance, and charity, my soul feels happy. I have a knowledge of the truth of the gospel as taught by the ancient prophets and prophets in our day. I know that the things that we can learn from them are true and will bring us closer to Christ. I also believe The Book of Mormon to be the word of God, as well as another testament of Jesus Christ. I know that Heavenly Father loves and cherishes each of us as His children on this earth. I know the He wants us to learn and grow and to become like him. I know that if we want to know the truths of His gospel, we can pray, and he will reveal it to us. I know he cares. I know he loves us. I know I am His daughter. And these things make me inexpressibly happy.

How I live my faith

Sometimes I think people mistake simply showing up to church or going through the motions as "living ones faith," but I believe it is so much more! The way I try to live my faith is in my every day life. I can show Christ-like love to those around me through little things like helping my roommates clean or calling my family to tell them I'm thinking about them. I can choose to make a positive impact in the world around me. I live my faith by doing just that-- actually living the things I know to be true every single day. I want to live my faith so that someday, when I meet God, he will be able to say "Well done, my good and faithful servant."
