Hi I'm Heather

I grew up in Minnesota. I'm a musician and a writer. I love all things Disney. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am the oldest of eight kids and I love my family so much! I went to school in Utah and got a degree in music. I love playing the flute and singing. I also enjoy reading books, writing my own stories, and crocheting in my spare time. I love the English language and have worked for a publishing company evaluating manuscripts. I also spent some time working at Walt Disney World, which was the best job in the world! I love traveling and seeing new places, especially when that involves going on long road trips.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the LDS faith and was raised as a Mormon. But I can honestly say that that is not the reason that I am a Mormon today. The most beautiful thing about our church is that we are taught from the very beginning that we cannot get by on borrowed faith! We are encouraged to find out for ourselves if the gospel we are living is true so that we can stand on our own, fully confident in our choices and faith. Through years of study, prayer, careful thought, and faithful action, I have come to know for myself that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Christ's church brought again to the earth! It's something that every man, woman, and child can know for themselves, if they are willing to search the scriptures and ask of God!

How I live my faith

My faith is such a big part of my life that I feel like it encompasses everything. It is first and foremost in any description I make of myself: I'm a Mormon! I believe in Jesus Christ! In everything that I do, I try to follow the teachings of my Savior. I recognize Him as the ultimate example of how to live and I am doing my best follow that example. The Savior taught us that we should love one another and I try to live that counsel by always showing kindness and being willing to serve others. I know that I am not perfect, but I also know that as I continue to try, I am improving every day. I try to live my faith by being willing to accept calls to serve from my local leaders. In my church services, I have been a teacher for children, for women and for Sunday School. I'm often shy in big groups, and teaching doesn't come naturally to me, but I know when the Lord asks me to do something, He prepares a way for me to accomplish it. I have seen that happen every time! I currently serve every Sunday as the leader of the hymns in my local congregation. I love every minute of it!
