Hi I'm Angel

I'm from the Philippines. I love music, arts, books, and kids. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm from the Philippines. I am a teacher by profession and a primary music teacher at church. I like singing, dancing, and playing guitar. I like arts and doing creative stuff. I like reading, especially about things that inspire and uplift.

Why I am a Mormon

Both my parents are converted members of the Church. I grew up in this Church and was baptized at the age of 8. But I didn't fully understand then why. As I became more mature, I gained my own testimony -- not just something borrowed from my parents. I came to know more of the Savior Jesus Christ as I attended church, lived the gospel, and read the scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon. I know the Book of Mormon is true and so is this Church. I feel so much blessed all my life because of having the gospel. The Lord must have loved me so much. What I love most about being a Mormon is that I've learned about my purpose and that there's much more to await after this life. Having a knowledge of Heavenly Father's plan of salvation makes me happy because I know I can live with Him and become like Him someday, if I live worthily even unto the end. I also believe in the sealing power that makes binding of families possible, and I feel very grateful that families can be together forever. I love my family so much and I want to be with them even in eternity. I love being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I'm a Mormon and I love it.

How I live my faith

I love my calling! Being a primary music teacher in our ward, I am able to use my God-given talents and share my love for God's little children. I can also teach children about how the Lord loves and cares for each of us. I make them feel that it's fun learning the gospel. I love singing! I like church hymns, EFY (Especially For Youth) songs, and most especially the songs we sing in Primary. Whenever I choose to listen to uplifting songs, I feel the Spirit and there's peace in my heart. I love going to Institute classes weekly. It's a place where I can find rest from the troubles of the world. It's a place where I find good friends and teachers. More importantly, I learn more of the Savior and His gospel. My testimony grows and my love for the scriptures deepens. I love sharing the gospel. Ever since I was a young woman, I've had the desire to serve. Now I've been called as a missionary to spend 18 months of my life serving the Lord and proclaiming His gospel. I'm currently preparing to serve.

What is the difference between attending church and the temple?

In the church, we do all things necessary for salvation. Here we are baptized, we receive the Holy Ghost, and we are continually taught to live the gospel and keep the commandments. That includes partaking the Sacrament to renew the covenants we made at baptism. The things we learn in the church prepares us to make and receive greater things when we enter the temple. In the temple, we do all things necessary for exaltation. Here we make greater covenants with the Lord that are needed for eternal life. It's a hallowed place where the most sacred ordinances can only be performed. As we perform these sacred ordinances, we help prepare the earth for the Lord's coming. Show more Show less
