Hi I'm Dallas Schoen

I am a born and raised Texan, Sports Enthusiast, Returned Missionary, College Student and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a born and raised Texan. I have two amazing parents and three beautiful sisters. I am 21 years old and a Returned Missionary serving in the California, Fresno Mission and Brazil, Sao Paulo North Mission. I am a College Student studying Political Science in hopes of working for the FBI.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member by title all my life, but to say I am a Mormon and mean it takes effort, effort that I finally gave in order to know for myself if this Church was even true. My testimony came just as is outlined in the Book of Mormon in Moroni 10:3-5. I knelt and offered with all sincerity of heart a prayer that I will forever remember because of the lasting effect it had on me. As I prayed I was overcome with an overwhelming sense of peace and comfort. At that moment it became clear that all that I had been taught with regards to this Church and all that I had read from the Book of Mormon, it was all true. As I continue to grow in this church, I still apply regularly that same promise, and as I continue to apply that promise my desire to share my testimony continues to grow.

How I live my faith

My faith is a large part of what makes me who I am. I have had the opportunity to serve in many roles of leadership in my ward and in the stake. Some of the leadership roles I have held have been President of my 14 year old quorum, 2nd Assistant in my 16 year old quorum, and I had the opportunity to serve as the head committee chair over the youth in my stake. I have also been a home teacher along with my dad assigned to help and serve three families in my ward. A large part of each of these roles is the opportunity I have to serve others. Within my ward youth group, we have participated in countless service projects from mowing and weeding someone's yard to going and visiting with seniors living in a nursing home. It is such an amazing feeling to serve others. The joy that comes from seeing the reaction of the person you've done service for cannot be matched. It is especially rewarding because it really helps bring me closer to my Savior. To know that his entire life was service, really puts into perspective how important service and love for one another really is.
