Hi I'm Rachael

I'm an Aussie: born in California, raised in North Carolina. I love life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I will be attending BYU in the fall. I think laughter is the best medicine. I am always looking for a new adventure! I love snorkeling, hiking, and exploring. Spending time with my family is precious to me. I am happy to love and to serve! I play the clarinet and sing. I travel a lot, and love it. I hope to serve a mission next year!

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up in the church, but I am a convert. After a very moving testimony meeting at girls camp when I was 14 years old, everything changed for me. The most amazing feeling rushed through me as I heard other girls speak of their knowledge of Christ. I soon recognized the feeling to be the Spirit. It was so sweet to finally know the truth! Ever since, I have devoted my life to my Savior, Jesus Christ. This gospel is happiness. Knowing Heavenly Father is there comfort me in times of sadness and trial is a beautiful thing. But more importantly, I know that He is by my side as I am experiencing times of joy--moments when I marvel at the blessings that He has given me. My faith is what drives me to do everything in life: succeed in school, help others, develop my talents. It gives me great purpose. Sometimes people ask me why I smile so much. It is because of Jesus Christ! I know He lives and His gospel is true. Nothing could ever make me deny that.

How I live my faith

I try my best to live the gospel in everything that I do. Just reading the scriptures and going to church isn't enough. As I go through my day, I try to ask myself, "Would Jesus approve of what I'm saying, or doing?" Whenever it is difficult to choose the right, I think of the Savior, and how small my sacrifices are in comparison to His. My favorite quote is, "If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything." One of my favorite ways to live my faith and feel the Spirit is to serve. I work with the Special Ed children often, and this is very sacred to me. We teach them about music and have dance parties, and I always have a blast! Their humble and kind nature reminds me of Christ, and inspires me to be more selfless. Service is a way for me to escape the world and feel the pure love of Christ.
