Hi I'm Parker Bronon

I grew up in Eagle, Idaho. I go to BYU. I'm now serving in the Arizona Tempe Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I moved from Livermore, California to Eagle, Idaho when I was six years old. I love Idaho so much! I grew up playing baseball, soccer, football, and wrestling. I played tennis in high school. I grew up in a strong family with hardworking parents. I am the middle child of seven and love all of my siblings! They are such great examples to me, both my older and younger siblings. I worked hard in high school and got into Brigham Young University. When I left for college, my parents moved out to Collierville, Tennessee. They love it here, but I have only barely got a taste of the southern life because I chose to serve The Lord as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I will be serving in the Arizona Tempe Mission for two years, following which I will continue school at BYU.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon for multiple reasons. My family grew up in this church so it is expected that I should be a member of this church as well. I went through the motions for most of my life as a teenager. I relied on my mother's and my father's testimony of this church. I figured that if they believed it with such sincerity, then they had to be right. However, after a while, I realized that I couldn't rely on my parents' testimonies anymore, and that I could not go through the motions anymore. I began to fix up my life. I got rid of bad habits that pulled me halted me spiritually. I went through the repentance process. I understand and have a testimony of the miracle of forgiveness. I have a testimony of the atonement of Jesus Christ. The whole plan makes perfect sense! When men sin, they must be punished. Because Jesus Christ suffered for us, we don't have to! Because he did this, he has the ability to be merciful on us. We can pray for forgiveness, and he can grant it unto us based on our sincerity and desire to be clean! If there is anything that keeps me believing that this church is true, it is that God does forgive. I have felt, just like Alma the younger in the Book of Mormon, the exquisite pains that come with sin. And again just as Alma, I have felt the exquisite joy that comes from looking to Jesus Christ, my savior, and being forgiven.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to do as the Savior would do. He was the perfect example of charity and service. As a member of the Young Mens program, I was advised early to serve others with all my heart, might, mind, and strength. When I heeded to these instructions, I could not believe the results. There were times when I would get down on myself about how I was doing spiritually, educationally, or physically (because there were definitely times where I was not doing my best in these subjects). However, when I remembered to forget myself, and serve others, everything just gets better! When I strive to be selfless and altruistically serve others, just as the Savior did, I receive comfort because I know that when I am serving others, I am serving my God.
