Hi I'm Joshua

I've lived in Utah my whole life love to play sports and the piano. I am also an Eagle Scout, but most importantly - I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm 19 years old, just graduated from high school, and received my associates of science in general studies from a nearby community college. I plan on going on and getting a biological engineering degree. However, I have first made the commitment to serve my church and my God by going on a 2 year LDS mission. I have also just received my Pharmacy Technician Certification and plan on working when I return home. I love to spend time with each of my 7 other immediate family members. I also love to do a variety of sports and anything that keeps me active including basketball, football, racquetball, and volleyball.

Why I am a Mormon

I have had the blessing of being able to be raised in the gospel my whole life. It has been one of the greatest blessings that God has given me. However, being raised in the gospel and in Utah doesn't mean that I have had an easy life. I have had many trials and things that have tested me and my faith to the core. However, as I have tried my best to live what I believe I have found that God has blessed and protected me in everything I do. He is real. Even though I have not seen Him, I am able to see His influence in my life and have felt the Holy Ghost, which bears record of Him. Even though my knowledge of things isn't anywhere near perfect, I believe and have faith in the gospel that is taught in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It is the true and living church on the earth and you can find happiness through living its teachings. I also believe and have faith in the prophet Joseph Smith, who I know is a true prophet of God. I have faith that he did see Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, that he translated the Book of Mormon, and restored Jesus Christ's church again on the earth. I believe in Jesus Christ that he is the Son of God and that he was the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He is the Savior of the world and he atoned for our sins and made it possible for us to be resurrected. Through him we are saved and through living his gospel we are able to live with Heavenly Father again and become like Him. I believe and have faith that Thomas S. Monson is the current prophet on the earth and that the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles are prophets, seers, and revelators for our day. I believe that they are called of God and that all of their words come directly from Him. I love God and believe in Him and know that if I endure to the end, I will be able to live with Him again and become as He is.

How I live my faith

There are several things that I do because of what I believe. One of those things is service. I try to look for ways of serving everyone around me, not only in the big ways, but in the small and simple things. These past 4 years I had the opportunity to be a part of my city and community's youth council. In this organization, the members have the opportunities to do many different service projects around the community. I love being able to go and make a difference in peoples' lives. Also, through my church I have been given several callings or jobs to do and be over. One of these is being able to look after 2 families in my ward. One other person and I go into their home each month and see how they're doing - see if they have any needs and then also share a lesson or principle of the gospel to them. In addition to this calling, I also am a youth family history consultant. I am specifically in charge of the youth of my ward and helping them do their family history. However, I also help other members and families that want to learn how to start doing family history. Being able to help people in whatever circumstance they or I may be in is what I love to do.
