Hi I'm Natalie

I am an artist, teacher, and a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the mountains of Southern California with my brother and parents, who I love so much! I used to teach middle school and high school but now I am a graduate student getting a masters in digital art. Some of my favorite things are books, hikes, storytelling, cute animals, friends, contemporary art, podcasts and nature. My goals are to be a life-long learner, to travel the world, and to always be a good person.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was twelve, I remember feeling about 90 percent happy and wondered why it wasn't 100 percent. I had a great life and family, so I felt confused and ungrateful for the 10 percent that was lacking. Around that time I began to get invitations to youth activities with the Mormons. My family was baptized members of the church but had not attended in years. I understood little doctrine then but going to church and to activities made me so happy. Consistently going to church, reading the scriptures, and prayer is what finally made me feel full. This gospel gives me a joy and happiness that I haven't found anywhere else. It has taught me that nobody is ever alone because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ and his love for us. I have also learned that no prayer goes unanswered and that I am a divine daughter of a God that knows my name. Because of baptism, I have the gift to the Holy Ghost, who is my comfort and guide through difficult decisions and happy moments. I have a close and personal relationship with my Heavenly Father who is always on my team, rooting for me to win. This gospel has also given me the most true, amazing, and helpful book that I have ever read - the Book of Mormon. Being Mormon has changed my life for the better, makes me happy, helps me to be a better person, gives me tools to overcome trials, and teaches me how to love others.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by loving those around me. Christ truly loves everyone and He is the ultimate example we should follow. Every person is a child of God and deserves kindness. Having faith is an action and something that takes effort. While it is not always easy to do, I am trying to do my best. Some things that help with this include attending church services, scripture study, prayer, listening to the prophet, and being a friend to others.
