Hi I'm Eva Fry

In 1970, I was introduced to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints through the Ensign. My membership has made me happy.

About Me

I am almost 74 years old. I joined the church at age 29 and began the most exciting journey of my life. I raised three good children who also live the Gospel and because of this we have saved so many family problems others I know have faced. I have had challenges as my husband of 54 years did not join the church when I did but I stayed faithful, prayed for him and 8 years ago he became a member of the church as well and our family is very happy and as a couple we are happier than we have ever been. He found the truths and happiness I have enjoyed since my conversion. We are missionaries for the Addiction Recovery Program of the church and see God's hand in helping people overcome hard things and return to the Savior and find happiness. Personally I have a program at the Detention Center here in St. George Utah, called "Be a Winner in life." I volunteer to speak to young people from the age of 12-18 and share them the truths I have learned about life - hoping I can help them have good lives and reach their potential. Serving others brings me the greatest joy. My Father-in-Heaven has opened doors for me since I became a member of the church and have stayed faithful. He has allowed me to discover gifts and talents I wasn't aware of. I am an author of three motivational books and a songwriter of over 60 songs. I perform and entertain which brings me great happiness. Above all my family is my greatest joy. We share this joyful life with our 3 children and 9 grandchildren.

Why I am a Mormon

My spiritual journey brought me the truths I was looking for. As a Mormon, I believe I have a Father-in-Heaven who loves me. I believe His Son, Jesus Christ, gave his life for me, so I can live again. I also believe in The Holy Ghost, who is my companion and guides and directs me. One of the greatest challenges I had was to prove to others, and to myself, the reality of The Book of Mormon, because the Bible says that man should not add or take away from the book. My own understanding, of that passage, is that man should not, but I’m sure God can, if he chooses. I now know God continues to lead and guide us through Revelation today. Thankfully many who didn't understand my life change have respect for me, because of how well my life has turned out. Living the Gospels truth has blessed me. We are taught, not to drink alcohol, smoke cigarettes or use drugs. What a wonderful blessing this has been to me. None of my grown children do these things and are teaching my grandchildren the same. My father and grandfather were alcoholic and through my Church, I broke the destructive chain in my family. We are taught to have Family Home Evening, one night a week, usually Monday, when the whole family gathers together We discuss ways to be closer and solve problems and how we can become more Christ like. Because of my faith, I pray always, love the scriptures and know my Father and Jesus love me. I go to church on Sunday, but more than that, I have a wonderful way of life. I also have an extended family of church members who love me, help me and are my friends. They also helped me raised my children, righteously. I joined the church at age 29 and I will soon be 74. My testimony of this wonderful Gospel of Jesus Christ grows each day. I love it! I love my Father and my Savior Jesus Christ. I encourage you to meet with the missionaries, read the Book of Mormon and pray about it, as I did. I want you to enjoy the happiness I enjoy. I know the Gospel is true! Eva Fry

How I live my faith

I live my faith on a day to day basis by trying to do the things My Savior and Father-in-Heaven have taught me to do. I try to have love in my heart and care for others. I regularly attend all of my church meetings. I try to do my church calls - which I love - faithfully. My husband and I teach the "Temple Preparation Class" and the "Marriage Class." I have held many church callings from being a teacher of children, woman, Seminary and many other things. Each calling brought me so much personal growth. I faithfully try to do my Visit Teachings, which is going each month to visit sister, I have been assigned to meet with - to share them a message and help them. I sometimes go with my husband when he does his "Home Teaching," where each month he visits the families he is assigned to visit, to teach and help in anyway they need help. Each morning and night my husband and I read our scriptures. We have done this faithfully for 8 years, since he joined the church. We have gone through all the 4 standard works - which are the Bible, Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants and the Pearl of Great Price - six times. These scriptures have strengthened us and taught us so much about Our Father-in Heaven, Our Savior and the Holy Ghost. We have learned so much about ourselves and life and had help with all of the things we experience in our life. I try to live the things Jesus taught. To love and serve and be obedient. I share the Gospel as often as I can because to me the greatest blessing I have is to share the things that have brought me happiness with others so they can enjoy the good life I have found. I write a lot of articles for the internet to help others as well. I love this wonderful Gospel. I believe it is the fullness of the Gospel. All that I learned before coming to this church is still with me but now I have the fullness of what my Father-in-Heaven wants me to know. I know know where I came from, why I am here and where I am going. I am so thankful.
