Hi I'm Steven

I'm a musician. I'm studying the saxophone at BYU. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student at BYU, studying woodwinds with an emphasis on the saxophone. I spend a lot of time practicing music and preparing myself for the future. I plan on being a studio teacher and a local performing musician. Most of what I do focuses on the jazz style, but I am also being trained in classical music. I play woodwind instruments, including the saxophone, flute, and clarinet.

Why I am a Mormon

When I began to study the Book of Mormon, my life became much happier. I knew that the book was true, and I knew that Joseph Smith was a true prophet because he translated a true book. I know that God is real and that his son, Jesus Christ, atoned for our sins. God has promised that we will be blessed if we keep his commandments. I am a Mormon because God has given me blessings for my obedience to Him.

How I live my faith

I recently returned from serving as a missionary in Mexico. I have enjoyed being able to teach people about the church and the gospel. As a musician, the music I make is focused on uplifting others. I have made several arrangements of spiritual hymns. I often help in church meetings by playing the piano for those in the congregation.
