Hi I'm Stephanie

I'm a wife, a teacher, a sister, a friend and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like going on walks and reading books. I love teaching Spanish to teenagers and cooking dinner, even though I'm still self conscious of my cooking skills. I'm a wife, we've been married for almost four years. I've taught Spanish for three years and I'm going into my fourth. I like talking with my husband and spending time with family.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was in college I became interested in reading the Book of Mormon. I grew up in Utah and had many friends who were members of this church, however I was happy with who I was and what my parents had taught me and I didn't feel like I needed anything else. I didn't want anything to do with the church for a time and I became very involved in my family's Catholic faith. I started reading a lot of good books like self help ones, praying more often and reading the scriptures as well. As I became more and more acquainted with God I became more interested in the church. I had always had many LDS friends so I asked one of my good friends for a Book of Mormon. I read only a tiny bit and I knew it was true. I prayed and I knew it was true. It didn't come as a huge, obvious confirmation but as a small feeling deep inside me and then as I searched further the feeling became stronger. There were many obstacles I had to overcome to be baptized as a member of the true Gospel of Jesus Christ but I knew that God would provide a way for what He had asked me to do. Sure enough Heavenly Father helped me on my journey to getting baptized and He continues to help me in my every day life.

How I live my faith

I love participating at church! My husband and I have moved around a lot since we've been married and we've both done a variety of things to help out at church. Right now I work with the youth and I love it. I also visit some of the sisters in the ward and other sisters visit me. I love this because it creates friendships and helps you meet neighbors that live nearby.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Stephanie
The Atonement of Jesus Christ is hard to put into words but it is the suffering that Christ went through on our behalf. Our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ, suffered so we could have the gift of change. Through this incredible Atonement we can change. We can be better! We can lift ourselves up when we fall and make mistakes. It is the most wonderful gift you could ever be given. We live in an imperfect world and we are imperfect beings, we will make mistakes and probably already have made many. Through this incredible gift of Christ we can always start over. However, the atonement is not just for mistakes. It is also for suffering, pain, grief, illness and any other ailment you could think of. When we come to know our Savior Jesus Christ and we understand His character and His attributes and that they are perfect, we learn to trust Him because we know Him. This knowledge combined with the help of Christ helps us heal, change and correct any mistake that we have done or that have been done unto us. Show more Show less
