Hi I'm Peter

I'm a father, a husband, a tour guide, a book seller, and a Mormon.

About Me

My arrival to the tour guiding scene was by chance rather than by design. While pursuing two degrees in the USA I gained an increased appreciation and love for my homeland. Every time I returned home I could not get enough of visiting British historical sites and our glorious scenery, and then felt compelled to start sharing that growing passion. That which I had taken for granted suddenly became a pearl of great price. I casually took friends and family to places of interest and then started doing walking tours of London for Adult Education classes. After my move to the north of England I decided to pursue this love more seriously and qualified as a Blue Badge Tourist Guide. That move coincided with my marriage which has resulted in the arrival of six beautiful children.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents joined the LDS church two years before I was born, so I guess you could label me as a second generation Mormon. However...my conversion is very much a first person experience. My parents raised me to pray, study the scriptures, attend church and serve others, but the most important thing my youth taught me was to recognise the sweet peace and gentle reassurance that God is real. Small and simple miracles constantly reaffirm me of His existence and love for me. In a like manner I have had spiritual confirmations that He did and still does communicate to Prophets. That He did and still does provide us with inspired scriptures like the Holy Bible and the Book of Mormon. That He provided a Saviour for me, and all mankind. Watching the news can leave you feeling this is a cold and uncaring world, but I feel privileged to understand that in the big scheme of things the evil we witness can not only be counterbalanced by the good people of this world ( be they of any faith), but that the great plan, the whole purpose of us being here, provides a compelling message of hope and security.

How I live my faith

Serving in the church has given me a host of opportunities over the years. After the demands of career and family are met the Church provides numerous ways to reach out to others in a volunteer basis. From teaching youth to being a Church History Advisor for the UK...from being the Bishop of my congregation to serving with other interfaith leaders...all these have indirectly helped me become a better husband and father while trying my best to lift those around me.
