Hi I'm Stewart

I was born and raised in a fairly large family in Kansas. I am married and working to complete a PhD in Microbiology.

About Me

I am currently a PhD student here trying to finish up my degree. I attended school and made it into a PhD program 8 years ago, but did not pass my Preliminary exam. After that, I went to work as a Research Assistant in a Biochemistry lab and met my wife. After a wonderful courtship, we were married and soon decided that I should finish my degree. So, now I am back in school and hope to finish up in a year or so and move on to a Post-doc that leads to a career in teaching/research in science.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe it is the right thing to do. I have felt the influence of God's spirit confirm to me that this is the true path for me to follow. I have a great desire to follow Jesus Christ. I know that through His gospel, I can on day return to live with Him and be with my family forever, not just in this short mortal life.

How I live my faith

I enjoy reading scriptures with my wife everyday. I love to discuss our feelings and opinions as we read and share insights. On Sundays, I attend our local congregation and help out with the Sunday School portion of the services. However, I believe that how I live my faith has more to do with how I live the other days of the week. I try to be honest and diligent in my work, I try to treat others like I want to be treated, and I strive to live according to the teachings and example of my Savior Jesus Christ. This includes being the best husband I can be to my wife. I try to show her love everyday and I am so glad that we are together.
