Hi I'm Kaylee

I have grown up in Idaho all of my life and enjoyed being raised there. I am happy to say that I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of five children. I am very family oriented and love taking time away to spend it with those I love most. It is was more difficult to do so when I moved out after High School to further my education at Brigham Young University (BYU); however, I love studying at BYU! I am currently a Public Health major in the Life Sciences. I chose this route in my education because I truly enjoy talking to people on a one-on-one basis about the things in my life I have learned which are of great importance to me. Because I love sharing with people what is most meaningful to me in my life I am leaving to serve on a mission for the LDS church in over a month! I am so excited and cannot wait to share the message of Jesus Christ with many individuals I come in contact with. As far as hobbies go, I absolutely like to sing. I have not participated in a lot of choirs, but I have done a few and enjoy using this talent any time I am able to. Also, I enjoy playing the piano. The piano is my favorite instrument and even though I am no concert pianist I enjoy sitting down and playing what I do know. Lastly, I love to hike. I will hike anywhere as long as there is a beautiful view waiting for me at the top! I am in love with the outdoors!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I have a testimony of Jesus Christ and know that this church is His Church. My faith was first stemmed by the faith of my parents. They were both members of the gospel growing up. They met while at BYU and got married in the Temple. Their goal as parents was to raise their children in the gospel of Jesus Christ. They wanted to help us gain our very own testimony of the Savior and his gospel so that we would too want to live for and testify of it. Their faith is similar to the millions of members spread all over the world who each share the same conviction for Jesus Christ and His gospel. My testimony also stands among the millions who believe and know that Jesus is the Christ. I am a Mormon because the gospel of Jesus Christ brings me true and lasting happiness. Through the gospel I am given the knowledge needed to become like my Savior and return to live with my Heavenly Father again someday. I am not perfect; however, through the gospel of Jesus Christ I am able to recognize my potential and purpose as a divine daughter of God. If I am founded upon Christ and follow him by keeping and living the commandments I will be able to avoid outer influences which try to keep me from this goal. In the Book of Mormon, the book of Helaman 5:12 reads, "And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation."

How I live my faith

In order to live what we believe each member chooses to give up some of their time through callings. These callings are given to us in order to help run the church and the various meetings, classes, or programs we have. I have been able to do a few different callings so far. My first was to conduct the music in several meetings as a chorister. This gave me a learning opportunity and the courage to stand in front of people to direct music. I have also had the opportunity to be a counselor over a group in our church's women organization, the Relief Society. I have been so blessed to work with other women to help lead and organize programs, activities, and meetings for the women. During this calling I got to see how the women lived to serve, love, and respect one another in and outside of church. Lastly, the most recent calling I had was as a teacher in church classes on Sunday. Teaching was such a great way to prepare me for my mission where I will be teaching people constantly each day. I have loved every opportunity given to me to serve in the church I choose to live my faith not just on Sundays, but throughout the week at work, school, and in my daily activities. As a member of the church I have taken upon myself the name of Christ and strive each day to draw nearer to my Savior. My goal is to help others see and find the same joy I have found through living the Gospel.
