Hi I'm Kate

I am a proud Wisconsinite. I love sports, good books, and sweater weather. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Southeastern Wisconsin, spending my summers at the local library and pool, my autumns cheering on the Green Bay Packers, my winters inside drinking hot cocoa, and my springs running Track & Field. I'm the youngest of 5 kids in my family, and we're all spread out around the country, so I travel a lot to see them all as much as possible! I love sports, both playing and watching - one of my favorite hobbies is cheering and supporting my friends and family in their games, as loudly as I possibly can. I studied English in college, and I adore snuggling up and losing myself in a really great book.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that is very active in this church. I've always been very involved in it as well, serving in whatever capacity the leaders of my various congregations have asked me. I have a long line of ancestors who have sacrificed so much because of their faith in this gospel. Their stories of faith and dedication to this church and gospel have always inspired me and strengthened my own testimony. But while all of these things have impacted me as a member of this church, these things are not why I'm a Mormon. I'm a Mormon because I have had several moments in my life when I have felt the Holy Spirit rush over me, letting me know that I have a very loving Heavenly Father, and that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer. I know that I am known - that my Heavenly Father knows who I am, and He also knows who I can become. I know that Jesus Christ gave His life so that I could be made clean again when I stumble, and that He is there to comfort me when I'm sad, strengthen me when I'm weak, and celebrate with me when I'm bursting with happiness. I know that Heavenly Father is by my side for every step I take - I feel His power daily - and I trust in the guideposts He's placed in my life to direct me back to Him; the Book of Mormon is one of those directors, which speaks plainly about how to live a righteous life. It is also testifies of Jesus Christ and His mission on this earth. I am a Mormon because I know that there is life beyond this time on earth, and I want to enjoy it in the company of my Father in Heaven, and with my brother Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I am a member of a young single adult ward, so I get to attend church with men and women of my same social situation - we're young adults, between 18-31 years old, who have not yet married and started families. As a member of our church, I am actively involved in the Relief Society, one of the largest worldwide Women's organizations, where I am uplifted and strengthened weekly by my fellow female church members - we discuss our beliefs and values, and how we as women can be strong leaders and examples in this church, as well as in our daily lives. It's extremely fulfilling to be surrounded by such confident and faithful people who know who they are and trust in the power of their potential.
