Hi I'm Brian

I grew up in New Jersey. I am half Peruvian and Half Vietnamese and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in New Jersey, born to immigrant parents. My mom is Peruvian and my dad is Vietnamese. They are both converts to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I currently attend Brigham Young University-Idaho and am studying Health Science as a pre-medical degree. I love playing basketball and watching it. I play the guitar and drums. i used to be in a band when i was a teenager. Oh and I love eating!

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were of other faiths before I was born. my dad was Buddhist and my mom was Catholic. Only my immediate family are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and my extended family is not. I believe at the beginning of my parents decision to be members it was difficult because their family and friends did not approved and accepted it very well but when they saw how happy it made us, they respected our decision. I continue to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ because there are so many different philosophies and ideas in the world that are not correct, but drown out the truth about life. i have been fortunate enough to realize why i am here on the earth and what my purpose in life is. it gives me an anchor in these times where many feel lost and confused about God and our relationship to him.

How I live my faith

I am the leader of a group of young men called a Quorum. I started September of 2012 and it has been an amazing experience. I have helped these young men live the Gospel of Jesus Christ and in return they have helped me realize what is truly important. I was blessed to have known young men that have had struggles like addictions, questions about life, and family problems, i have seen them receive answers and overcome these obstacles with the help of Jesus Christ. We have also had opportunities to serve the community by going to a local Senior Citizen Center and visiting with them and getting to know them. We help with blood drives and help collect food for the needy. It was been a great experience to serve and see lives change.
