Hi I'm Zachary Dietrick Garrett

I love my family. I love the simple good things in life. I love the outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 20 years old. I grew up in Kennewick Washington, but I currently live in and around West Virginia. I did marching band in high school all four years. I absolutely loved it. The drill, the marching, the power of the music, everything! Competitions were the best. It is one of my favorite things in the whole world. I also enjoy quoting movies, reading, tennis, basketball, and college football. I completed one semester of college at Brigham Young University-Idaho, and I intend to finish my degree in the future, but probably at a different college at some point. Not sure what I want to do, but I am thinking about becoming some sort of teacher.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that this is the true Church of Jesus Christ and I know that this is what God wants me to do. I was raised in the church, but eventually I decided that if I was going to go on a mission, according to my plans, I needed to know if the church was true. So I asked God. I had been studying the scriptures specifically the Book of Mormon much more than I ever had before. I really wanted to know if the Church and the gospel and the Restoration was true, and I asked my Heavenly Father in faith. God witnessed to me through the Holy Ghost that the church and the gospel was true. It's hard to explain what it was like, I think it was similar to a burning in your heart like it says in the scriptures, I started to get emotional, and the thought ran through my head, "this is it", that what I was experiencing was the witness everybody talked about, that I had finally recieved my own. I have since then recieved multiple confirmations and reassurances through the Holy Ghost, the Spirit, of that same witness and of specific parts of the Gospel.

How I live my faith

Right now I am serving as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day-Saints in West Virginia. My purpose as a missionary is to invite others to come unto Christ by helping them recieve the gospel and do certain things God wants us to do. I really want others to have the happiness and knowledge that I have.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Zachary Dietrick Garrett
Mormon missionaries proselyte because they know of the truth of their message and know that their message can bless all people. They proselyte so that others have the opportunity to partake of the Atonement of Jesus Christ and receive saving ordinances so that they can live with their families and Heavenly Father forever.
