Hi I'm Denny Mainwaring

I'm a Mum of 13, Nan of 21, I live in a town called Burgess Hill in England, and i'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born 61 years ago in Batterca and was raised in Chelsea, London. I had three siblings, Boy and Girl twin and another brother. I was married at the age of 16 after meeting my then to be husband, Barry. We settled down in Stepney, East London and 11 months later at the age of 17 I gave birth to first baby boy, Lee. After a while, we decided to move away to Haywards Heath, Sussex, where I had my second baby boy, Simon. Then, one day the missionaries knocked at our door to which i wasn't present, they then came back the following Sunday and proceeded to teach us. At first I wasn't interested but as the lessons went on I began to know it to be true. We were then baptized a few months later, we soon moved to Burgess Hill where we went on to have 11 girls. At the moment I have 21 grandchildren, mixture of boys and girls and i'm sure more to come.. of course they keep me busy! I currently have two grandsons serving missions, Joshua, 21 serving in Leeds England mission and Marcus, 19 serving in Virginia Richmond mission, I'm very proud of them both now that they can teach other people. I just adore children as you may of guessed, I love to have them all around me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because as stated, many years ago I was converted into the Church of Jesus Christ , I know in my heart that this is the only true church on the earth today and am grateful for that knowledge and to be a part of it. It's comforting to know that's there's life after death and that we can be reunited with our families. I know I have a Heavenly Father and Saviour Jesus Christ who love and care for us. It's humbling to know that we can pray to our Heavenly Father and build a personal relationship as he loves us endlessly.

How I live my faith

Of course, I go to church every Sunday where i've had many callings, teaching children, adults, and the youth and a variety of other callings. I took my children and grandchildren for early morning seminary for four years which was lovely to see, but also very tiring. We try to live our faith by practicing and living each day, I don't go to church just for Sunday, I apply it in my life daily in anyway that I can. We try to live, what we call the word of wisdom, where we try to live as healthy as possible, we don't drink alcohol, smoke, certain hot drinks and have a healthy lifestyle.
